I painted my portrait of a bald eagle in vertical format, but cropped it to a contemporary square format, so you can decide which format best fits your space.
Even though they’re the most common falcon in North America, I’ve only seen this small bird a handful of times in the many years I’ve been photographing so I was very happy to catch this one perched on a lichen covered branch. These little fellas can reach speeds of up to 40mph flying flat or 50mph when diving.
Sitting in the snackbar - This beautiful Sparrowhawk was sitting in our garden at about 50cm (20 inch) from the bird feeding station as if he was in a snackbar. The feeding tray was of course totally abandoned by all the little birds
This #Painting may have been commissioned by a Nobleman to demonstrate status as the inclusion of the Falcon #Bird makes reference to the archetypal prince's skill in #hunting.
