Back when I used to work in an office, I would always #bake a #cake on Sunday evening and bring it the next morning to the office to share with my colleagues, for what we lovingly called #TGIM... It certainly made coming in after the weekend a little bit nicer.
Of course, I don't want to give up all the freedom and flexibility I get from #WFH, but this sense of camaraderie is something that I do miss.
Because I haven't been trying to make "New York-style bagels" - mine aren't that or Montréal but are closer to Montréal style* - but I was looking up something else and found a couple of people saying that.

Well I guess I've been here for a bit, should do one o' them #introduction posts or something so here goes:
I am a gigantic fucking #nerd/#geek. Expect any kind of random topic. #gaming? Been playing #games for 30+ years now. #Comics? Absolutely. Not so much DC, but anything #Marvel or damned near any other company.
Not big on sports aside from #prowrestling (which I post tons of news on kbin.socials #squaredcircle magazine).
Aside from that, I'm #Canadian, a #millenial, have a deep seething hatred for 99% of humanity and commit myself to daily rituals to try and assist with the waking of ancient eldritch beings to hopefully come end us all. I also #bake a lot and love cookies.
Made some new #italian#food tonight. Found finger ribs on sale (basically beef ribs without the bone) so I made this Italian dish where you effectively braise beef rib meat in just a stupid amount of thinly sliced onions (3.5 kg [~8 lbs]) and a bottle of white wine for about four hours.
While it was braising I decided I also wanted to #bake Italian sesame #bread so I made that as well. Came out rich but good (bread pics in reply).
I'm your average next door gal. (Still) waiting my letter from #Hogwarts. Pretending I’m on #Bake Off and Paul Hollywood gives my a hug because I'm that Good!
I had rather a lot of leftover carrots and apples around, so I decided to #bake morning glory muffins for the first time, using the Barefoot Contessa's recipe.
And wow. So much stuff in these muffins. They're in the oven now, but I'm wondering if the recipe started out as some sort of contest for how many "add-ins" a single recipe's worth of muffin batter could support.
I’ve been thinking lately of making a Swiss meringue with vanilla seeds in it, so I thought I’d do a quick search to see if anyone had posted a recipe somewhere to get the ratio right. All I could find were buttercream frostings, which, okay, fair, also sounds delicious. 🤤 #baking#bake
