I just finished reading this book which was recommended to me by @cobalt. Thanks for the recommendation! I learned a lot about the brain and why we do and say things, the way we do. It was published in 2023, so recently. A good read and a keeper. #Alzheimer's #bookstodon
@Caiotekit I have thought of small anecdotes from this book over and over. When you are the caregiver it’s hard to see how you are being lead into some feelings, confusion and upset just by how your own brain reacts to another’s dysfunction. In today's episode, Trump became lost in a mental fog, and thought he saw #OJSimpson in the crowd at his rally. OJ Simpson is dead. The #Republicans should be very concerned about the fact that their candidate is apparently so deep in mental failure that he's seeing dead people.
i found a #seattle local therapy group for people who care for folks who live out of state and have #dementia. i honestly cried after i got off the phone with the facilitator. ♥️ already feel community.
