William Johnson is a sound designer, producer, and percussionist. He works on records and film scores.
He’s quite inventive overall. But this particular use of super balls on drums/cymbals is unreal. The sounds he makes here are unearthly and eerie to the bone.
I just realized that I don't have a script in the game that would play music as a playlist
Now in early access we have a separate track playing on each level, but our soundtrack is quite large, 10 tracks and they are very cool... I think that it is necessary to write a script that would play different tracks on the same scene. Yes, I don't use ready-made engines for this, do you?
Sound designer Ben Burtt is responsible for some of the most iconic sounds in film. Most notably in the Star Wars franchise. This includes R2-D2’s voice, Darth Vader’s breathing, blasters, and, of course, the lightsaber.
This lightsaber clip has been shared all over the web. Consequently I don’t know the source. But it’s fascinating.
Unity why can't the volume control feature be made for humans?
For example, I want to lower the volume by 0, this should be set to a value -80f on AudioMixer. Ok.
But when I want to do it smoothly, for example, smoothly reduce the volume of the music, then in the second half of the value scale, no sound is heard. So instead of 2 seconds, I have to do 7 seconds of fading
Is it just me or Plugin Alliance is starting to look like Waves? I keep getting daily emails pressuring me to check out their $29.99 deals that's ONLY FOR TODAY, when the day after there's another one.
I love many of their plugs, as well as several brands that are part of the Alliance, however this doesn't bode well, especially if coupled with their recent buyout from Native Instruments.
Where do people buy their audio plugins these days?
The sound that is played when the enemy exits the state is sometimes not audible and it is not always clear during testing. When the code was written a long time ago, it is necessary to spend even more time on corrections
Was digging for #newmusic on #bandcamp and #qobuz yesterday and while I heard many really interesting tracks, I rarely felt touched by anything. 🤔️ Some of the compositions were absolute masterpieces of #production though! 🤯️ Lots of super bright, noisy, distorted, twisted sounds but (to me!) little harmony and/or emotional connection. Seems like especially in #electronic#musicproduction many producers are gravitating towards #sounddesign. Not a bad thing, just saying.
It's not often you hear loud thunder claps without rain or other elements. Nice to get these even if on a handheld recorder and not my proper #sounddevices kit. #sound#sounddesign#film#norfolk#uk
I finally have an RSS feed for my blog! I was initially trying to figure out a way to automatically generate it based on my posts, but I found it was actually quite easy to type it out by hand.
if you have such talent, you can do sound design in games. It really surprised me how much one person in a few minutes can create a whole atmosphere for an entire scene or biome
