How backend developers, like myself, see software development.
After working for scores of clients over my career as a consultant sorting out software issues, I know that the frontend is often as bad as the backend, but no one wants to admit it because the end result looks pretty.
I'm noticing folks doing an #introduction so here's one for me!
I'm Jami and I'm a Software Developer specializing in the #frontend currently working on the #designsystem for va.gov. Work that's near and dear to my heart as a #veteran myself.
I enjoy #woodworking 🔨 (I just finished building a 300+ lb workbench!) and I enjoy #sports, especially watching my beloved #chicagobears 🏈
I'm in Chicago with my partner, our dog, and two cats.
❤️ 🐕 🐈 🐈
I'm also a music nerd and #HotSauce lover and recently got back into the habit of reading #books. #VideoGames are also something that is dear to my heart.
Feel free to reach out if you want to talk about any of these topics. Welcome to the #FediVerse!
I'm Meowry, a Brazilian queer software engineer, focused mostly in #FrontEnd development.
Out of work my interests include #makeup, #goth and #cyber subculture, heavy music -- mostly #metal and its subgenres but also eletronic music and #jrock (can you guess what my handle is referencing btw? hehe).
I'm a sociologist at heart and almost got a degree on that field but that's a long story. I'm passionate about academic studies about #gender and #queer#sexuality.
I am #nonmonogamous for more than a decade now and you'll definitely see me talking about it here. I love and support many #erotica and #nsfw art and eventually I'll boost them -- always with CW and image sensitivity filter on by default!
There's a lot more to talk about so feel free to follow! I'll toot mostly in Portuguese-BR but also English.
hi fediverse, i am looking for (remote) contractual work and/or a (remote) hired position in the field of web development and/or general software development. (UTC+1 timezone)
🚀And here is part 3 of my CSS units roundup: This time about container query length units. These units are essential for modern CSS development. I’m still getting used to them myself. I had a lot of fun creating demos with these! 😍
Cześć, jestem Kuba. Jestem frontend deweloperem. Głównie sci-fi i fantasy, czasem jakiś reportaż, ten ostatni głównie książkowo.
Monaspace: a superfamily of fonts for coding, that comes with 5 fonts, 3 variable axes (640k styles in total) and a bunch of very nice code ligatures. That’s, hot. Yup. (by Github Next and Lettermatic) https://monaspace.githubnext.com/
Recently I look at every #frontend I am working on or have worked on and I ask myself: did this really need to be built in a reactive framework? Or could it just be the server sending some #HTML? I see the latter as a better option more and more. And every time I hit a papercut with reactivity, or massive build toolchains, or bad #perf I get a little closer.
Unfortunately due to an upcoming #furlough, I will need to look for other work (full-time or otherwise). If you or someone you know need a senior #frontend / full-stack dev, in #EU (I live in Finland, remote work), please boost, ping, slide into DMs or email me (in CV).
I put together an image with some tech. info and what I do in my free time, CV posted below with link as well. Requirements and preferences in 🧵
I’ve spent the last few months crafting my own home on the Web, and I wanted to make sure it presented me as a human, not defined solely by my work as a #DesignEngineer / #WebDev.
This has also been a great opportunity to finally use #Svelte & #SvelteKit in a project. I love how easy it was to learn and how intuitive it is, as someone who started with vanilla HTML and CSS

"The MDN Playground is pretty much what you expect it to be – a simple way to preview HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. For now it covers most of the basics; like basic autocomplete, formatting with the one and only prettier, and the option to share your amazing work (given you're logged in)." #MDN #Mozilla #Webdev #Frontend https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/blog/introducing-the-mdn-playground/
Hello #accessibility community, I have a question regarding #cms user interfaces. I may have gotten the gig to implement a website with strong #a11y focus, tech stack of my choice.
I'm gonna go with @astro and want to implement a CMS that is as accessible as possible. Do you have any experience with the following platforms?
