Omg. Never seen so many #birds on our porch! The #cardinal couple claimed the bird feeder for a while, the #woodpecker just sat there, and #chickadees were quickly stealing a seed on the other side of the feeder once in a while!
These birds are such friendly little creatures and their cheery calls to each other fill the air around here at times.
I hope your Tuesday is a cheerful one.
In winter, the birds must remember where they’ve hidden tens of thousands of seeds. Biologist Vladimir Pravosudov explains what this can teach us about how the brain evolves.
Sunday was a big day for this chickadee fledgling. It ventured out into the world from a nest carved into the top of a wooden electrical outlet post.
I discovered it accidentally while measuring the post for a cap. I was lucky to be nearby the moment it flew up into a tree.
Chickadees are one of my favorite birds...they will eat right out of your hand if you have something of interest. And spring is my favorite season, so I've combined chickadees and cherry blossoms in this #artwork with a quilted effect to give it some depth.(Not a quilt though!)
