I have no idea if this will be bad or not, but the people insisting it’s nbd because“there’s no evidence it’s transmissible from human to human” obviously don’t realize how most viruses get started. We are stupider than we were in 2019.

@whoosh @mlanger @ai6yr I appreciate Ben’s posts, even the bad news ones. I think it helps me have a more realistic awareness of my own risk factors, and understanding and preparing for those risk factors help me feel safer. Also, Ben’s mix of good/bad news posts serves as an example of balance for me: be aware of danger and try not to die, but also make DIY soaps and be a friend to bees! Trying to emulate by finding my own balance. 👍

Top of my list is Angry Staffer (🤞), but I’m not sure who else is there. If you hear of any other important threads accounts that have enabled sharing to fediverse, could you please let us know?

@ai6yr Yeah it never was about lockdowns. Rates of teen suicide and depression actually dipped during those times, rose again when kids went back to school, and have continued to rise since. I cringe when I hear people say, “The kids are alright.” As a child/adol psychologist, that has not been my experience.

@ai6yr I think it’d be okay to name him, the article does (and he brought attention to himself by complaining about it publicly online). I’m glad they kicked him off, instead of making trouble for the poor person trying to protect themselves from covid.

I’m not following (and concede that my mind is clouded with frustration which is making it difficult for me to think rationally about any of this). Isn’t it just another delay because it’ll be easier for him to find the money and move forward with the appeal, during which they can’t seize any assets anyway?
