Yeah the WankerTruck (WT) is fast, as all EVs are, but straight line, drag race speed isn't what "driving" is all about.

Take that behemoth into the twisties and it would be all over the place and would have to slow WAY down just to stay on the road.

Any 911 would smoke the WT in the backroads and on a road course like Sonoma or Laguna where the turns are many and the straight aways are few & far between.

If youโ€™re a #cars guy in the #sfba, youโ€™ve probably heard of Aliceโ€™s restaurant in La Honda. I went up there recently and I saw this sign.

This is chickenshit. If you want to raise prices, raise your menu prices. Iโ€™m willing to pay for the difference. Donโ€™t blame โ€œinflationโ€ and then add 6% to your prices off-menu. This shit should be illegal.

When I lived in The City and still road motorcycles, it use to be the "thing to do" to stop at Alice's to look at other bikes & to meet other riders but not necessarily eat there.

I have eaten there when it wasn't busy and never got sick there but this was back in the 80's when I hope their food handling was better.

After awhile, I still rolled by to see what was going on but Alice's simply got too busy/popular and I stopped going there and rode down to Pescadero via La Honda & Pescadero Ck Rds to eat at Duarte's Tavern instead, which is FAR BETTER than Alice's and then road back up to The City via Hwy 1.

#Allergies #Sneezing

I do not usually suffer from allergies but something got to me yesterday that had me sneezing all day and forced me to take a couple of allergy pills (twice during the day) which eventually stopped the sneezing but also made me tired & groggy, forcing me into bed early.

Woke up w/o any symptoms, so hopefully the allergen that kicked by butt yesterday has passed on. ๐Ÿ™

My landlord installed a heatpump / electric combo water heater last month. It has a wifi connectivity feature that supposedly lets you schedule the water heater.

I was excited to be able to turn it off during peak times (4 to 9pm) and at night and set it to high efficiency mode when needed.

I didn't watch it live and know nothing about the horses in the race but the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby was a 3 way photo finish with a 18-1 long shout -- Mystic Dan -- winning the race by a nose.

The announcer blew the call naming another horse in the lead at the turn before the straight away to the finish & only figured out that Mystic Dan was in the lead until he broke away out in front beyond the turn.

Mystic Dan faded and was lucky to get the win, holding off betting favorites Sierra Leone (3-1) in 2nd and Forever Young (7-1) in 3rd.

@stevenray I've still got a large collection of music files on a hard drive somewhere that I downloaded to use on my Classic iPod that died only a few years ago. Thought about buying one to replace it but with #Pandora (which is the music app that I use now, there really was no need to do that. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This doesn't include my large collections of CDs & LPs that I still enjoy listening to on the mostly 1980's vintage audio gear that still works well.

Does it actually limit the full power (rev) range of the EV just to simulate a the red line effects driving a car with a real transmission?

If so, I think that's stupid.

I'd still prefer the real ICE sports car, preferably w/a manual transmission that you can actually control, even if it's slower than an EV.

Besides, who wants to ride in what essentially becomes a driving simulator with this N thing?

I wouldn't mind test driving one but I'd never buy/lease one. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Nice to see Winn finally getting some (not a lot but just enough) run support to get his 1st "win" of the season by throwing 6 1-run innings, that run was a HR but it was an excellent outing.

Soler still isn't hitting long balls but he did get 2 hits and a walk and scored a run ahead of an Estrada double. He was also reached 3rd on a Chapman double that scored Lee.

The 3rd run was scored w/2 on and no out after Ahmed hit into a DP but those are all the runs that the Giants need to win after Doval (who was more focused) came in to get the save --- 3 up/down w/one K.

The Giants win the series 2-1 and FWIW, according to the announcers, this was the 1st series win for the Giants in Miami since 2016! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Now let's see how the Giants do vs the $Dbacks starting today.

Think that's a C6 and don't think that model had a backup cam. So, it's hard to see anything out the back of one.

But that wasn't the problem.

Obviously the moron was attempting to show off by gunning the engine, lost some rear traction, over corrected and crashed simply because he didn't take his foot off the gas.

As you know, I go to a ton of . Well, have started showing up to a couple of morning meets the past two weekends.

And I noticed something interesting: car people ignored them. Nobody stopped their conversation to look. Nobody got on their knees to take photos. Nobody got their phones out to make reels. They just glanced at the truck, and went right back to talking with their pals. Absolutely zero interest.

Itโ€™s fascinating because the weirdest-looking, ostensibly most technologically interesting vehicle to have come out in decades shows up, and car enthusiasts treat it like it were a Kia Sedona. Every reviewer of the Cybertruck says they constantly get stopped by people wherever they goโ€”well, apparently, this does not happen at car gatherings.

And itโ€™s not about EVs, either. Bring a Rimac Nevera, and I guarantee youโ€™ll get a crowd forming around your car. Itโ€™s the Cybertruck in particular.

I'm a car geek and have been to my share of car meets and what I think is going on is not a lack of interest but an intentional shunning of the CyberTruck owners because, if you showed any interest in one, your car geek friends would say: "WTF's the matter with you!!! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Outside of the meet, I'd like to take a look at one, just to check it out, but at a meet, no way I'm going to show any interest in one. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Sorry but I can't get excited about a partial eclipse.

If I had given it any thought, I would have arranged a trip to Matzatlan where I could experience the TOTAL eclipse, which would have been a rare experience, but I didn't. Oh well . . .

Thought about making a pinhole camera to view the eclipse's image but I'm going to be busy around 11-11:15 (when the eclipse will be at its max in the SFBA) to bother.

But I'm not worried because there will be thousands of images posted to the Net that will be better than any image that a pinhole cam can provide.

    @divya An interesting article that I do not agree with because it is so one-sided and polemic but AAPI people, in general, and organizers/leaders in the "Stop Asian Hate" movement should read it to understand why some people have concerns about how the movement is going about its business.
