nerds: I'm embarking on a home project and need about 250 ft of quality solid copper (or better) cable. Before I buy new, is anyone holding? Anyone with a half-used spool gathering dust in the garage? I'd much rather buy someone's leftovers. Thanks!

I made the mistake of going to the grocery store to get a couple of things on Memorial Day weekend. It was a zoo! And God help me, I'm going back tomorrow. I forgot to get the bread.

@samhainnight The missus and I went to WinCo last night. It was pandemonium. Now that there's self-checkout, only two lanes were staffed. People were literally just giving up, pushing their carts out the door, and bypassing the checkout entirely. Just straight-up shoplifting their weekly groceries.

Our First Look at the Fellow Opus Grinder. This is the first Fellow Product we've ever reviewed at CoffeeGeek.

We are only able to review this because Whole Latte Love sent us a test unit. Fellow themselves have opted not to work with our website to get their products reviewed; they mainly work with Youtube and IG influencers, but are also happy to get their products in the hand of big mag/newspapers.

That said, their stance will have no impact on our First Look and forthcoming review. In fact, the Opus is a candidate for our forthcoming Best Budget Grinders for 2024 Feature Guide.

    @billyjoebowers I just finished my fourth of six scheduled for today. They used to be fun because there was coffee/lunch/snacks provided. Now that I'm WFH (and diabetic), they're much less so. Yesterday's catered taco bar is today's kale smoothie.

    My neighbors are cutting down my favorite tree. I'm so sad. It sheltered my backyard from the afternoon/evening sun in the summertime, making it a cool and pleasant place to be on hot days.

    Getting ready for a martini party. Yet again I will have to decline the free alcohol and ask if I can get a ginger ale or something. The bartenders here are a bit more with it about making me non-alcoholic cocktails, at last year’s place they acted like it was a bizarre request they had never heard before. I honestly didn’t think being teetotal is that unusual?

    @purplepadma I had to check to see where you're posting from. NA beverages have long been not only accepted but encouraged over here in my area (Pacific NW). Designated drivers often get their NA drinks for free as an incentive. They're also getting trendier, with fancy "mocktails" starting to gain significant social cachet.

    Anyway, cheers from another ginger ale drinker.

    #DnD Honor Among Thieves just spent the entire week as the third most watched movie in the USA on Paramount+

    It was ahead of Mission Impossibles and Top Guns and Jack Reachers and Screams and other franchises.

    This is atypical of nearly year-old movies that aren't part of massive franchises.

    The one thing you simply do not do at an charge station with only two functional units: Go for 100% with cars waiting. My guy had been plugged in for over 2 hours when I finally gave up. Shameless.

    My 11yo has been dreaming up fun homebrew magic items. Her latest is the "Suspenders of Disbelief." If you hook your thumbs in said suspenders and snap them against your chest while winking at your target, you get +1D6 to any persuasion check.
