Linus Tech Tips (LTT) release investigation results on former accusations (x.com)

There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their website describes them as “one of the largest...

psion1369,

Beef makes money. Just like cars, oil makes money.

psion1369,

There once was a time when configs were not in a universal place like .config. I have terrible memories of trying to fix a gnome setting gone wrong and having to search several files in four different places and just having to firebomb everything.

psion1369,

Im kind of on that boat. I feel that sometimes throwing ships into a story can take away from everything. I liked the fact that relationships in SG 1 and Atlantis were more junk to fill time, or previous marriages that had been split for one reason or another. And as much as I liked Pete, there wasn’t much he could have been used for that Agent Bartlet could fill in for. Rant over.

What destinations are experiencing "undertourism"?

I’m curious to learn about places around the globe that have a significant amount of underutilized tourism infrastructure. In many cases, I suspect that governments are propping up unsustainable tourism operators or investing in tourism with a “build it and they will come” mentality....

psion1369,

I live in an area that was built on tourism in the 1920s. Prohibition turned it into a rum runners haven as the customers were always coming and the proximity to Canada made it a prime location. Now, the infrastructure is all gone and the only thing left is it’s past is the local high school mascot. Mt. Clemens Michigan used to be something amazing.

psion1369,

I used to joke with my niece that my programming job was just me staring at screens and meetings all day. She didn’t believe me until she got to shadow me one day and got super bored.

psion1369,

I discovered that all the videos were in the disk unprotected, so I would watch them all for clues and just finished most of the game that way. I also discovered that the end pages could be accessed without doing anything else and worked. I got Riven, got stuck, went to the disk files and laughed since they put all the files in some strange archive I wasn’t familiar with at the time. No cheating for young men. I wonder about now, though.

psion1369,

So is it sites that are specifically lgbtq+, or any site that has content as such? If the later, that’s nearly a third of the internet.

Edit: actually read the article. It’s any site where the content is considered harmful to minors, including homosexual content. So how much of NetFlix, YouTube, Facebook, etc get banned under this?

psion1369,

Like I can with Klarna, Affirm, Zip, any number of credit cards, etc.

psion1369,

Here in USA, it was all on ABC and called the Disney Afternoon. Super successful with DuckTails and Tailspin, then bringing Alladin and Good Troop. There were a few other movies that got the animated TV show treatment, but the success of the Disney Afternoon started wearing thin and the shows were cancelled when people realized that they were not good anymore. Not like DuckTails, Darkwing, and Alladin.

How do we package food products sustainably in coming decades?

I imagine all plastics will be out of the question. I’m wondering about what ways food packaging might become regulated to upcycling in the domestic or even commercial space. Assuming energy remains a $ scarce $ commodity I don’t imagine recycling glass will be super practical as a replacement. Do we move to more unpackaged...

psion1369,

Which is cheaper, switch out manufacturing processes and change the whole industry, or tell the consumer in a commercial that it’s all on them?

psion1369,

I used to root my phone and then could use the hotspot without my provider knowing.

Not only is "Seinfeld" vastly overrated, any claim that it pioneered the concept of "a show about nothing" is ridiculous and imbecilic.

First of all, yeah, come at me. “Seinfeld” is only kinda-sorta funny, at best. Seinfeld himself is really not funny at all. His act is perpetually stuck between the oldschool, early 1950s-style, cigar-waving “hyuk-hyuk, get a load of all my jokes about women drivers” comedians and the post-Lenny Bruce era, where...

psion1369,

Yeah. After that storyline, v everyone started calling the real show that.

psion1369,

Who cares? Wear it if you like it. I get stared at for my blue hair and bright polish. Don’t care.

psion1369,

As a cis male, I wish other cis folk would realize that my nail polish and the fact that I like shows that would normally be geared towards women doesn’t mean I am secretly trans, or closeted gay man.

psion1369,

I have so many, but today I was listening to the radio and was really getting into Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing”, Heart’s “Crazy On You”, and Peter Schilling’s “Major Tom”. It was truly a good day on the radio.

psion1369,

I had a chance to read the pilot pitch script for Breaking Bad and it was one of the best I have ever read. Was the reason I started watching the show in the first place.

psion1369,

Popcorn. Can’t stand it when covered in salt, can’t stand it when plain. Tasteless and the kernels get everywhere that they shouldn’t be. Gross.
