I see more people talking about Skiltaire, the fictional species Sy created, since his passing.

They are really neat and have cool lore! Here's a couple links.

I love what Signal is doing with the new phone number privacy but now what I think it still sorely needs is being able to be seen as "Human McHumanname" to one set of groups and contacts, but "Fuzzbutt the Mobile Apocalypse" to your Inner Circle

Nobody knows their computer history anymore and everybody thinks they’re inventing new things when they’re often reimplementing old ideas. This Wave terminal getting all the hype boasts about displaying graphics in the terminal like nobody had ever thought of it before, but I think a lot of people would be pretty surprised to hear that. Just because it’s not a commonly used feature does not mean it doesn’t exist.

It's so weird how EV sales are flailing in the U.S. and europe but are still going ganbusters in china. wonder if huge subsidies making expensive new vehicles affordable and a publicly managed charging infrastructure has anything to do with it.

Literally the only life hack I have is when you're trying to cancel a service (cable, internet, some delivery thing) just say "I'm moving to Ireland*" They don't have any kind of deal/retention script for that and it lets them skip to the end, you can sometimes literally here the relief in the customer service persons voice that they don't have to give you a hard sell on staying.
