So listen: I don't love talking about my health in public, but I think I have an important message for anyone who has EVER smoked cigarettes. Unknown to almost everyone, the #2 cause of bladder cancer in men and women, after genetics, is prior smoking. Urologists should be warning everyone that has ever smoked to get a regular cystoscopy, (not painful). In that critical early stage, these cancers can ONLY been seen by visual inspection. That's it.

So, in episode 10 of season 4 of #Succession, when they're trying to decide who would be CEO, Roman says, "Dad said when I was with him late one night that it should be me."

I rewatched that scene from s4e2. Logan doesn't say anything of the sort. He says, "I need you with me." I don't think that even implies that Roman would succeed him.

It's weird that his memory is so off.

@evan you're assuming that the night in S4e2 is the night he's remembering. It quite easily could have been some other night that wasn't in the show that he is remembering.

Nicholas Britell is truly a genius and he outdid him with the #succession soundtrack, which was just released today.

He also did the soundtrack to Andor, which was stunning in itself, but the piano is my weakness and Succession is a masterpiece imo

The surgeon general just went on TV to tell Morning Joe social media is dangerous to youth.
Fifty-one years ago, the surgeon general contended television was dangerous to youth. In both cases, they talk correlation, not causation.
And forty years ago, the surgeon general was contending the video games were dangerous to youth.

@jeffjarvis funny isn't it how they never discuss other possible causes of depression in young women . . . society lurching towards fascism, inheriting a planet devastated by climate change, and laws viewing them as nothing more than incubators. . . yeah, none of that could possibly be a reason to be depressed.

There are so many open letters about AI, I'm starting to wonder whether AI's writing them. The latest protests AI learning from art to make art. But how has art ever been made? I'd hate to see this be a hardening of copyright's restrictions on creation. The letter's language is emotional: "This is effectively the greatest art heist in history... Generative AI art is vampirical, feasting on past generations of artwork even as it sucks the lifeblood from living artists."

@evan I've done it roughly twice a week for two decades now (with several 2-3 month breaks but now year round) and am likely much stronger than my (also aging) peers. I don't do it to get buff but to build a habit of keeping my muscles strong. I come from a long line of fairly long-lived women and would rather be able to stay as physically active and independent as long as possible than end up frail and dependent.

Good morning, Versians. I've been watching @CNN so you don't have to. You can probably tell by the steam coming out of my ears. What a hot mess.

Even the 2nd string reporters now feel like 4th string. I assume the entry level pay is pretty dismal, lately. John Malone and Chris Licht and are the latest enemies of the people. The coming election coverage is going to hit next-level awful.
