After hearing so many great talks at around good API documentation, I am back in the real world dealing with horrendous API documentation.

Considering switching mailing platform from MailChimp to something else. Any recommendations?

Trying something new for @phptek this year. If you can't make it for a 3 day conference, we just added 1 and 2 day ticket options.

We'd love to have you join us in Chicago this April 23-25.

Things are transpiring with @phptek. Airfare for the speakers has started, now we just need YOU (yes, I'm looking at you) to be an attendee. It's going to be so much fun!

Apr 23-25, in Chicago. Join us!

@john @eric During PHPUgly last night I mentioned "home row" mods but YouTube chat wouldn't share any comment I made with a link. Here's a link to the article about it and why people are trying it https://precondition.github.io/home-row-mods

I had to replace the controller on my Advantage2 LF with an open source one so I could use QMK...so I could use home row mods.

@grmpyprogrammer Thanks for sharing, checking it out now.

You should join us in discord instead. ;-)

So, because of a counting mistake on my part, @phptek will now have 4 tracks of awesomness to choose from. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

@Crell @phptek trying to read the subtext.

Is that a positive "How could you?" or a negative one?

john,
@john@phparch.social avatar

@Crell @phptek I only asked because I could see some speakers get upset that they're talk may get diluted. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I don't think that would happen, but you never know.

It was so hard sending out the @phptek rejection letters. I've received some "why?" questions.

We will always try to be as transparent as possible. If you want specifics, please reach out, but here's the most probable answer.

  1. We request people to submit 3-5 talks. We usually want people to give 2 talks at the conference.

  2. International travel is expensive. We can only afford a few Int'l speakers.

  3. The pool is big, we can only choose about 30ish speakers out of all submissions.

john,
@john@phparch.social avatar

@sarah @phptek It's stuck in limbo of somewhere between not accepted and not rejected. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great holiday and happy new year.

Opportunity missed for a second green check. You try to pee over your head like that and hit yourself in the face, all good.

OMG, so many great talks submitted to @phptek. I've only scratched the surface of evaluating them and finding it so hard to choose.

Thank you everyone for submitting! Can't wait to see what we come up with for a schedule.

Get your Blind Early Bird priced tickets now before time runs out and the price goes up. Plus you might be able to use it as a write off for this year... ;-)
