This is your reminder that if the minimum wage had grown in line with productivity growth (like it did until 1968), as of 2020, it would be around $21.50. Imagine what it would be today.

Instead, people with power have kept it at $7.25 for 15 years now. This is what we mean when we say poverty is a policy choice.

The rich and powerful have written the rules to benefit themselves at the expense of everyone else.

But we aren’t powerless.

We can organize around leaders who will fight for working people and change the system to work for all of us.

This isn’t inspiring. It’s a snapshot of how broken our system is. This is what it takes for an average person to save what Jeff Bezos makes in one minute of staring at his shoelaces.

Resources shouldn't be hoarded at the top while the rest of us struggle to get by.

This is why CEOs don’t like unions.

How are they supposed to afford that second yacht or private jet with all those worker pay increases?

This isn’t what we meant when we said “medical debt shouldn't exist"

Basically, this is unionizing.

If unions were actually bad for workers, corporations wouldn’t have to spend millions of dollars to stop workers from forming them.

Has anyone felt that trickle yet?

……..anyone?

In 2018, for the first time, U.S. billionaires had a lower effective tax rate than working class Americans.

We used to tax the rich. Imagine what we could fund if we taxed them again.

United, we have more power than they want us to realize.

If your company thanks you for overtime with popcorn instead of increased pay, it’s time to organize a union.

Strong unions make a difference.

Together, these autoworkers won:

  • More than 25% raises over the next four years, including a 10% raise after the deal is ratified
  • End to wage tiers
  • Cost of living adjustments
  • Profit sharing for the first time in Daimler history.

When corporations raise prices, why is it we blame workers fighting for wages high enough to pay their bills, but don't blame the CEOs taking home record millions in pay packages?

We aren’t jealous that some people are rich.

We’re angry that some people make themselves insanely wealthy by shortchanging workers, cutting corners in ways that hurt people and the planet, and by buying politicians to rewrite the rules in their favor.

There’s a big difference.

If they can afford a million dollar personal pickleball court, they can afford a wealth tax.

There would be no profit without the labor of workers, and now workers are coming together to make sure they get their fair share.

Who would be angry about the working class making sure that the rich aren’t the only ones getting paid? Oh wait

This bill would make it so businesses are no longer required to give underage workers meal breaks if they work for at least 5 hours.

The GOP representative carrying this bill owns several Smoothie King franchises in Louisiana.

There are people with extreme wealth and power who want us blaming our fellow workers instead of banding together to create change.

Let’s not fall for their divide and conquer tactics. We can build working class power and solidarity everywhere.

Stop glamorizing “the Grind”

  • pits workers against each other
  • rewards are basically just pinky promises from management

And start glamorizing “Organizing a union”

  • builds worker solidarity and community
  • rewards are in writing and legally binding
