@cdarwin my mother’s oldest brother died of polio as a toddler in the 1920’s. His parents held him in their arms while he gasped for breath then died. Apparently, the #republicans have decided to bring that back. They’re mentally ill and they’re going to condemn a lot of people to a horrifying death. It’s time to vote out all #gop representatives
So I think the reason crime is not eradicated in NYC is because wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few people, and those who have that money enjoy their leisure time.
So when people who don't have jobs are wandering around, it becomes unsafe.

@QasimRashid my Dad made about $378/month in 1968. He had to pay house note, car insurance, house insurance, feed and clothe 3 kids and a wife, pay for school supplies and books, car note. How much money do you think he had left over? He had 2 other part time jobs and my mother worked part time to make ends meet. All three of his kids worked starting at age 14 but yeah the boomers had it made
