It is 6:17 AM and there is already a stream of traffic heading north. I am just thankful that we didn’t do anything stupid yesterday and that the dog is not stressing out like he has in the past.

Well that didn’t go as planned lol. Turns out the blizzard that’s hitting Vermont this weekend decided to come a little early, so we had to scramble to get the camper packed today after making the drive from Ohio, then drive the rig to Albany through snow. We’ll finish this tomorrow, just glad to be parked away from the bulk of the snow.

Not good. This is the main stem of the Winooski. Since records here began in 1912, it’s only gotten to this volume (15,600 cfs) 3 times, most recently 1936. We’re 1000 cfs and over 1 ft higher than 2011 (Irene).

9 days in the OBX was just the thing. Nothing but kiting, and chilling at the beach, and I loved it. Back to Vermont tomorrow though! Lots more to do before we go to WordCamp US this month!
We made it back to Charlie, our camper in Vermont, yesterday. We’ve all got Covid and I’m pretty much spending my day recovering. Gilmore Girls, fever reducers, and tissues abound. I’m so glad we got back before everyone’s symptoms peaked.
Well… National Weather Service says that over the 12 hours, those of us in #Vermont should be seeing a LOT of rain! We are up at the top of the red zone in this map.

We made the pilgrimage to IKEA today as one daughter is moving into an unfurnished apartment near her university. Of course, for us in northwest #Vermont, going to IKEA means… driving 2 hours and crossing the 🇨🇦 border to get to the store in Boucherville, Quebec!!
The fun part for me is that my study of French has progressed to where I can actually read and understand most of the signs inside the IKEA store! (They also almost always have English translations.)
We have high wind alerts and as I watch the trees blow outside my windows... I'm also thinking about how many old trees we have around... and about how all our power lines are above ground on poles.
So if I'm not online later... there's a reason... 🙂
