Post your daily driver keeb. Doesn’t have to be mechanical. Here’s mine (minus the artisans, they’re just window-dressing whenever I take it to meetups). #Mechanicalkeyboards#mechanicalkeyboard#mechkeys
This beauty finally arrived, Ploopy Adept #trackball.
Last year I tested the water with a Ploopy Nano, a fantastic little trackball that easily sat between my split keyboard. The only issue for me was not so much the lack of buttons, but the inability to map keyboard keys together with trackball movement. With a trackpad you can hold ⌘ and swipe to zoom in Figma.
so if your #Logitech M570 #trackball, praise be upon it, starts having issues with not recognizing your clicks or double-clicking when you don't mean to,
this is the microswitch you should replace under the button.
A few bucks apiece, but if you have half a dozen of these trackballs lying around your house because your whole family uses them, $2 to renew the trackball is much better than $35 for a new one.
Update #ŧrackball : commandé 32 switches au début du mois, reçu 2 switches aujourd'hui. Désolée @Eldeberen et @lord , je suis obligée de vous imposer de l'attente mais c'est pas de mon fait là é_è
@cabel#Apple never made a standalone #trackball controller. The ones they actually manufactured looked like the attached photo. The goofy 🖲️ emoji looks like it came from #Kensington or #Logitech.
I've gone full #keeb nerd and added a #trackball to my work setup. 2 x 22inch (55cm) monitors with my laptop screen as a third displaying the keymapp app from ZSA to show me where the keys are on each layer (I'm slowly learning) and now an old trackball which was sitting around in the office. I haven't used one since I was little, so I'll see how I get on with it for a week before I get my own.
Why I was on the point of buying a trackball mouse but did not
Firstly, I would not have had to pay for the mouse, so money was not the deciding factor (my medical insurance gives me rewards for exercising along with a 20% discount which would have covered the full cost).
I liked the idea of the trackball mouse, mainl ...continues
I think I'm going to need to move away from an utterly bog-standard #mouse and start using the stationary #trackball variety. Not for ergonomics or similar, but for desk layout.
Is there anything I should know about different types, brands, or sub-varieties before taking a punt on one? #technology#reccomendations#reccomendation#SuggestionsPlease!
With that being said, does any #trackball nerd out there know how the #ploopy works w/ drivers? I'm not sure I am in the market for it yet as the kit is a bit expensive, but looking at the alternatives I'm not really sure I trust the brands.
I'm not sure ultimately what did it in. From what I could observe, the mouse was working but the dongle and mouse could not communicate to one another. I'll keep it around just in case I can find another use until I find a replacement. #trackball#technology
Anyway, what makes the game unusual in the Sonic franchise is that it uses trackballs to control Sonic and friends! Kinda like Marble Madness. Looking at footage of some of the later stages, I cannot imagine the strain those trackballs were put under, since you have to go FAST and have very little margin for error as the game goes on.
Jeśli ktoś myśli ze klawiatura mechaniczna to dziwactwo to co z trackballem :)
Bo i to mam na stanie. I dużo łatwiej mi obronić ten wybór.
#klawiatura#trackball
My #Parkinsons#ParkinsonsPlus is rough on desktop computer mice. I think I am going to have to setup 'subscribe and save' for the mouse and get a new one every couple months.
Need to figure out something.
Serious #GamersOfMastodon. I figure you are hard on computer mice. Send me links and suggestions for an ''industrial strength' computer mouse that will take abuse, please.
In the early 1990s, I liked using a large #trackball (on Windows 3.1). Since then, I've mostly been using #Wacom tablets, most recently a mid-size Intuous 2.
