i really like #flatnotes, but it's a little bit too minimalistic ... thinking about switching to another #note taking solution ... but there are so many options. #obsidian , #logseq , #joplin ?
main requirements are that its needs to be quick and easy to use; syncing the notes between desktop and android phone (not through external cloud, needs to be #selfhosted) ... preferrably 100% #foss - so i guess obsidian is already out?
I try now #Logseq and this is #OpenSource and I would like to like it but somewhere I can't manage to understand and use it. I don't just want to write down my thoughts and #ideas, I also want to be able to check off a #todo list… 😐
"Start small. Don't try to build a system overnight. Doing so will make both adopting the tool harder and take you down a rabbithole of customisations you don't need."
After a month of testing the Anytype app (https://anytype.io/), I've returned to @logseq. I definitely want to understand how to use it better, but I feel less confined when starting with it. Probably because I'm more of a 'jot down and do the work' type of person. I've set it up along with @syncthing and I love it. If anyone is interested in helping me learn more about it, I'm always open to guidance. Sorry for my lack of useful skills to help. #foss#pkm#note
#Pippe mentali. 😇️
Yesterday I noticed that my 4 y/o neighbor had left a note for the faeries who live in my tree. It’s a portrait of Rosie. This morning, as #FaerieManager , I’m answering correspondence.
The single super-cool thing that has drawn me to using Obsidian is the ability to have queries in a note. When you look at the note in "rendered view" (whatever their term is for that), you'll see the results of that query dynamically put into what is otherwise a static note.
Otherwise, I actually found a lot of Obsidian's defaults painfully counter-intuitive… but this dynamic query feature offsets those frustrations, at least so far.
Customary on weekends, I take a little time to write a short story, about our adventures.
As a background, in case you are new, here's who we are: 2 seniors, my wife is disabled (I'm crippling up too), defying difficult trails to show that it can be done.
Hashtag shown is relative to places in #NovaScotia, that others might never have seen, but will want to visit.

#WARNING: Ticks are plentiful in this area, particularly in the long overgrown old cemetery.
Tuck socks in, use Deet, do detailed tick checks. Deer are the only keepers of the graves now.
I need an app to replace my work notebook
So I'm willing to replace my physical notebook for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 5, but I'm having trouble finding the exactly app for me....
