Did you know that, the "the customer is always right" saying, dates back from the 1900's, in the very specific context of retail and hospitality? And, the whole sentence was actually “The customer is always right — in matters of taste.”
While customer feedback is important, businesses should balance it with strategic decision-making. Otherwise, you become a feature factory.

Is the Customer always right? It depends by Alexandros Shomper on Medium (5min):

I'm looking for an online tool to offer coaching/ mentoring / 1h consulancy that deals with payment and collects / remits VAT for me. Any idea? (Gumroad does that but it's for goods not services, Patreon too but I don't want subscription I want 1 shot sessions)

stephaniewalter,
@stephaniewalter@front-end.social avatar

@jonspark I asked stripes already, they check VAT numbers for B2B and they do the calculation for you but they don't do the remittance you still need to do it yourself, and I would love to avoid the paperwork for B2C customers

Ever heard of anchoring bias, prospect theory, focusing illusion, peak-end rule, planning fallacy, availability heuristic? All those biases were pioneered by Daniel Khaneman, a giant in the fields of psychology and behavioral economics.

Also, fun story about anchoring that happened at lunch. We ordered deserts. 2 of us ordered black sesame mochis first, the 3rd one ordered a green tea ice. Guess what flavor the ice cream that arrived was? Yup, black sesame. The waiter focused on the first information order, and totally forgot the last one wasn't black sesame.

Let’s talk about dark mode and accessibility! There’s a myth that dark mode is good for accessibility, because it improves text readability. It's not always true.

@greg han you are rights, strange. I'll check when I get time to unleash the horrible annoying technical stack to change 2 lines of CSS haha. Adding it to my to-do. Thanks 🙏

@brawaru when you say wont respect your preference you mean media query on OS preference? Or more like you chose on theme, and when you come back you have to switch again because they didn't keep the preference you chose before?
