So I have a presentation tonight, and thought I would promote BornHack a bit @bornhack
It is a very nice, cozy, HYGGE camp in Denmark July 17-24. You should consider it if you need a break from the outside world.
I looked these pictures I took of my camp, and associated KEA tent from last year. It sums up the camp for me, sleeping tent, working tent, serious tent and when the night falls, music and lights
I've got an #iPad / #OSINT puzzle, and I could use any suggestions anybody has to throw out there.
Back in 2022 in the middle of the pandemic a medical provider in NYC sent my uncle an iPad to attend a virtual appointment on.
I'm trying to figure out how to return it to them, or barring that, to factory reset it so that it can be returned to service as a useful device rather than a nearly brand-new iPad needing to be recycled.
This has proven to be... difficult. #Apple#tech#hacking

Column called "Click & Double Click" in the The Southeast Missourian, dated 5th of August 1997. Columnists Dennis & Darren talk #hacking, in particular cult of the dead cow and I spy a @dethveggie homepage. "These guys seem to proclaim themselves #hackers, but they appear to be selling out"
🇮🇱 Spying, hacking and intimidation: Israel’s nine-year ‘war’ on the ICC exposed | @guardian
"On 16 January 2015, within weeks of Palestine joining, Bensouda opened a preliminary examination into what in the legalese of the court was called “the situation in Palestine”. The following month, two men who had managed to obtain the prosecutor’s private address turned up at her home in The Hague.."
Fascinated by this story that got a lot of attention in July of 2003.
"The government and private technology experts warned Wednesday that hackers plan to attack thousands of Web sites Sunday in a loosely coordinated "contest" that could disrupt Internet traffic." #hacker#hacking#history
Ep.1 is about The Well and British Journalist #JamieBartlett claims that The Well was the world's first social network.
Before he was even born the Brits (and Europeans!) were running big, successful online social media sites and I think we mostly understood the potential consequences.
From an American? Fine - But come on BBC/Jamie! Do your research or get Tom Sandage to fact-check a little. Grr!

"Cybersecurity, Lepassaar argues, will inevitably need to become second nature to designers and consumers.
“I do believe that we have a societal challenge ahead of us to understand digital security in the same way that we understand, security in the everyday traffic environment,” he said."
🇪🇺 Disruptive digital attacks, many of which have been traced to Russia-backed groups, have doubled in the European Union in recent months and are also targeting election-related services, according to the EU’s top #cybersecurity official.
A hacker group has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack that targeted auction house Christie’s earlier this month.
The attack took place just before the start of its high-profile spring sales event involving more than $850 million worth of art. Online bidding was suspended, but the group claims it has accessed sensitive information about wealthy art collectors around the world, and is threatening to release it unless “an agreement” is reached. Digital Trends has more.
LockBit says they stole data in London Drugs ransomware attack

Please RT for reach: I’m trying to #FOIA records on computer intrusions into DOD systems during first Gulf War (1990), I have a GAO report which gives a high level summary but am looking for more.
Does anyone know what DOD department might have investigated #hacking back then?
"Given that Microsoft has not been able to prevent massive hacks of its servers, this product — which will record everything you do on a Windows PC — qualifies as criminally insane."
