I said something like "At this time, I would like all of us to be thankful for the underpaid immigrant workers that provided this affordable meal for all of us." Every head at the table lifted up and stared at me and after a beat, they said "amen". They never did that again.

In that book, he misattributes a quote that is supposedly from the 4th century but is actually from much later.
That is not to say that Christianity hasn't appropriated any Paganisms, but to say that the 25th Dec was not relevant to early #Christians is not true at all.
