When you 'buy' a #NFT you basically buy a ROW in DATABASE with a LINK
That's the "receipt". If the host decides to delete or change all images stored in 'your link' you have nothing!
Just like what you started with! 💸
Be wise and don't fall for the NFT bullshit. Here on the Fediverse you'll get all the rows in our database that you'll ever need! For free! :blobcathighfive:
Also, we don't delete your media❤️ (it's always stored somewhere)
Here's my latest wee history video about the life and work of Scottish Artist and Glasgow Girl, Jessie M King. Jessie lived in Kirkcudbright for many years, at her house, Greengate.
A reminder that a mobile phone makes walking alone safer, but is not all you need.
In a six-hour operation, Kyle RNLI crew rescued a hillwalker who had been trapped for 24 hours on a narrow coastal ledge in the remote area of Kinloch Hourn, where it's difficult to pick up a phone signal.
Some highlight of my coast-to-coast in Scotland. Went from Mallaig to Montrose. About 300km. My first time to Scotland and the highlands. Great experience but I bit too much road walking for my taste.
EA Hornel was the Kirkcudbright Artist who began inspiring other Artists to come and visit, paint and live in Kirkcudbright, creating it's status as an Artist's Town. Steadfast in his refusal to go to the big city to ply his trade, he lived most of his life in the town, up to his death
Check out this photograph / digital artwork that would look great framed and hanging on your wall in your home or office or produced on a variety of products.
A view down a Scottish Glen with low clouds over the mountains at the end of the valley.
The magnificent ridge of Beinn Alligin in Wester Ross, seen from the south across Upper Loch Torridon. It is the most westerly of the three great mountain masses of Torridon, the other two being Liathach and Beinn Eighe. I finally got around to trying the IRN BRU I bought. I would describe it as bubble gum flavored cream soda with a diet cola finish (from the aspartame). I'm glad I tried it, but I have to admit it's not going on my favorites list.
I've only been once to Edinburgh for a day, but it was so lovely there - the city has a nice medieval flair with the castle sitting high on top of a hill. Maybe I'll be back one day for a longer trip.
We came across the severed head of a Sika deer stag a few days ago. There was only the head with antlers, no gralloch was anywhere to be seen. If both were there, it would make more sense. The head looked very fresh.
I spoke to the keeper of the neighbouring estate (it was on their ground). He said they employ contract shooters to keep the deer numbers down. However, he was certain they wouldn't leave the head.
#Gruoch found this on a different walk (not the one I've nicknamed "The Wicker Man walk").
In all the years I've lived in the Highlands I've never come across so many deer parts littering the countryside. Is culling more common, or is butchering now the norm?
For my Non-Scottish International readers, The Fringe is a long-running Arts festival held in Edinburgh that we in Scotland justifiably hold dear, and that Edinburgh residents dread for the way it triples the population of their city every August. ☺️
Now more than ever we need marginalised voices to ring out so please have a look at and share this early entrant to the festivities. Being able to watch them online when they release should hopefully mean a much wider audience.
The wonderful two-mile long beach at Lunan Bay, on the coast of Angus south of Montrose. Backed by dunes and a ruined castle and framed by low cliffs to the north and south, this is high on our list of Scotland's best beaches. The "Wicker Man" walk never fails to provide a surprise. On to-day's #DogWalk we found what looks to be a small cow's horn.
This was surprising for a couple of reasons. Most cattle here have their horns removed when they are young. Honourable exception to this convention is for Highland Cattle. Secondly, the nearest cattle are about three miles away. The horn could have been carried here by a fox, but, I would wonder why. Yet another mystery.
