→ erzwingend „nur Text“-Nachrichten
→ bei Antworten (einer HTML-Mail)
einschalten oder überhaupt da innerhalb der Mailantwort switchen? 🤔
Im Haupt-Postfach werden die Einstellungen befolgt, im Zusatz-Postfach nicht (zumindest nicht bei Antworten). Unter Outlook Online läuft's, bei der Desktop-Fassung wird's ignoriert. 🥴
Kennt sich jemand mit diesem scheiß #MicrosoftTeams aus (ja, ich weiß). Wenn ich im kack Kalender von #Outlook zu einem Termin inkl. Teams einlade, gibt es die Option. „Weiterleitung zu[zu]lassen“. Klingt erstmal selbsterklärend, aber was heißt das genau? Erhalten die zum Meeting Eingeladenen einen individuellen Code oder können sie sich nur mit ihrer Mailadresse einklinken? Oder ist das wieder so etwas Pseudosicheres von MS, wo nur die empfangene Mail „nicht“ weitergeleitet werden kann?🧐
At work, we recently migrated to MS 365 for part of our email management and I discovered a tiny useful piece of software that simplifies for me the OAUTH2 based idiosyncratic system of Outlook and its friends.
A proxy now allows me to still use mutt, fetchmail, msmtp and exim to read and write emails.
Is your primary e-mail account #gmail? As in the e-mail account we would use to communicate, so not necessarily your job related e-mail. Feel free to share widely.
@vfrmedia@jwildeboer I not only refuse to patronize #Google & #Microsoft; I also refuse to send #email to #gmail & #outlook recipients. I go as far as an MX lookup in case their vanity address points to the server of a surveillance capitalist. It’s not perfect though b/c sometimes forwarding masks the role of google & ms. I also do not share my email address w/such users. So I rarely #email anymore.
There is literally no worse way to spend a Friday afternoon, than to try and figure out what that stupid email isn't displaying right in MS Outlook 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Please tell me this can be turned off somehow? I have, like, twenty-five years of muscle memory of #Outlook’s sections being a horizontal bar at the bottom. Now they’re a vertical bar at the top, which requires more space and doesn’t do anything useful.
(In the Windows version, there’s a hidden registry key… for now. But what about the Mac version?)

#Google, #Yahoo & #Microsoft are notorious for ignoring #abuse reports and not giving any shit, yet instantly & silently block mailservers if they don't setup SPF the way they want it.
Me: It's painful watching you deal with such utterly $#!++y software (esp. #Outlook), but I don't want so say anything, because it sounds like I'm just being critical.
Family Member: It's not like there's a choice.
Me: There's always a choice. The choices aren't easy, but you exchange one form of difficulty for another. It's like if you had a really terrible gardener. You'd fire him and do the weeding yourself. Still difficult, but way better.

Outlook pro tip: when canceling a meeting, if you also are sending information in lieu of delivering it at the meeting (a status update or list of action items), DO NOT include that info in the cancelation message. Send it in a separate email. Outlook deletes meeting invitations, updates, and cancelations after the recipient acts on them.
