#Philosophy - "What is the meaning of Life"" or purpose. Maybe their two different things, or they may mean the same thing. I'm interested in the idea that Meaning or Purpose are artifacts of living a life that allows one to contemplate such matters. Are both an emergent property of a life that involves a level of leisure.
Homeless or starving people, or someone in combat has more pressing concerns than life's meaning or purpose. Staying alive to wonder why later is the issue at hand.\
Abstract (full text in link): Although David Bohm’s interpretation of quantum mechanics is sometimes thought to be a kind of regression towards classical thinking, it is in fact an extremely radical metaphysics of nature. The view goes far beyond the familiar but perennially peculiar non-locality and entanglement of quantum...

"All humans by nature desire to know. An indication of this is our liking for the perceptual capacities. For even apart from their utility, these are liked because of themselves — and most of all the one because of the eyes."

Critical Realism: A Critical Evaluation
Tong Zhang, Social Epistemology 2022
"positivism provides the scientists with the excuse to focus on formulating and revising auxiliary theories and omit the discussion of core theories, thereby leading to the establishment of dogmatic metaphysics."
The trouble with #metaphysics is that the deepest questions are inherently unanswerable -- not because there's no answer, but because the question doesn't mean anything.
If the #universe is #infinite, then you are not #unique An infinite number of you exist, and will be near impossible to distinguish the exact copies of you from those that are just a tiny bit different.
Now in English! Traditional games are important dynamics to strengthen the bond between human beings and their environment, improving the ties of brotherhood, coexistence, solidarity and reciprocity between members of the community.
Among the indigenous peoples of South America it also serves for the circulation of knowledge. For example, among the Yukpa of the Sierra de Perijá, the game of string is known as shakü 🕸
Several versions of the myth that tells the origin of shakü agree that it was the learning of a woman returned from the land of the dead. Following the principles of Yukpa cosmology, knowledge that is important to the dead is also important to the living. I'd like to delve deeper into this at some point here on the Fediverse.
In any case, when one dies, one of the tests to reach the community of the dead is knowing how to make a figure and explain its meaning.
The wheel of life turns, consciousness makes abrupt shifts between, on one hand, a clear and distinct image of reality, and on the other hand, a vague and hallucinatory projection of the realm of imagination. Is it then possible to observe your own consciousness? Does it cease to be conscious of the link to the otherworldly if it is not dusted off?
Paul McCartney & the Gedankenexperiment of Music - by Stephen Macaulay
Because this isn’t just any record, there’s still more. . .
Metaphorically, we live moving forward. The future is ahead. The past is behind. The future is something that we can potentially change based on decisions or actions taken in the now. Once a decision or action has been made,...
I use breathwork and directed elemental energy as part of my aerobic routine. One thing that it has made me aware of is how certain bands or songs tend towards certain elements, the most noticeable being water, fire, and air.
It's not what seems to be the most obvious. It's not the more metal a band is the more it trends towards fire. It's more about the way it's played. Transitions between verse & chorus & break, the lyrical, how the riffs and passages interact with each other.
Fire music tends to use brighter tones, is harsher (not in a bad way), and transitions are more of a switch as opposed to a crossfade (like water music where transitions just flow into one another). Air music tends to be more technical and intellectual. 1/2
The I Ching (Yi Jing) based in Chinese philosophy might be a more systemic approach, in contrast to the more systematic approach based in Western rationalism, says #CWestChurchman via #DeboraHammond.
