A year ago I started a little personal #Fedi project to every week share #newRelease music + a variety of other tracks from all sorts of eras & genres too.
I called it #BearTracks for my own humour & just to sort of see what I was doing.
It's over 500 tracks now. Lots of good music, quite a bit you might not have heard.
It's 1990, and a gateway single to the Madchester scene for a lot of people was this track. I might still recall the code to the jukebox I'd play it on.
Norman Cook did a remix-lite little tidy around on the track in 2003 that mostly just punched up the production a little.
Hmmm.... Looks like #JeremyHunt will enhance (accelerate) the powers of metro-mayors in the West Midlands & #Manchester next week, ahead of some expanded powers for other regional mayors.
While the leading 2 beneficiaries come one from each major party (allowing Hunt to claim an even hand), he won't be sorry to enhance Andy Burnham's ability to present him self as a separate node of political power from Labour's parliamentary party.
Hunt may be hoping this adds to the ructions inside Labour?
Question. Some dogs can tell if a person has cancer, presumably by their smell. Does anyone think that some autistic people might be more sensitive to such changes in body chemistry? Not as much as a dog, but more than most other people? @actuallyautistic#ActuallyAutistic
Having a cold I can't really say if I could smell our tap water. Never thought about that. I definitely taste water.
Once I was in #Manchester and I was shocked about their tap water. I couldn't dring it, because it was so strongly smelling like chlorine. Now I wonder, if people are not only used to it, but really can't smell it.
Its quite an extraordinary 'natural experiment' - from which we can draw the conclusion (without too much difficulty) that #privatisation is not the way forward if #busses are to be part of the #greentransition
(and don't get me started on #London exceptionalism....)
Worth clarifying there are still private companies operating in London. The difference is between unregulated and regulated markets.
In london TFL franchises the routes, companies compete on cost and performance. Bringing down cost and improving performance. Profit margins are low and comparble across operators. A service every 15 mins or less is run to make the network attractive to commuters.
Outside of in the unregulated private market, private companies form monopolies, drive up prices and only run the most profitable routes and schedules while demanding huge subsidies for anything else. Profit margins are typically much higher but there is no alternative as they own all the depots and literally drive other operators out by blocking routes!
Excitied to see a regulated market approach coming to #manchester also what the ROI on for proper investment in bus (in regulated markets) could be for working families and the environment.
Well done #Manchester for another huge turnout speaking truth to power, giving a voice to the massacred and oppressed.
It was a peaceful and vocal demo of all faiths, colours, ages, and genders. No hate, other than for US, UK, and Israeli political warmongerers. Humanity, solidarity, and outrage at #genocide brought us together.

Good bye! 🇬🇧🐝
