A moving song about the endless-and-yet-ending relationship between child and parents, hugged by mellotron over a driving drum and tense saxophone. Merrill's incredible voice fills up everything.
"We all have doubts.
We all have rage.
We all have trouble being brave enough to turn the page.
We like to use it for early availability. Before appearing at the streamers, it’s there on our page. Two “sided” singles for June, July, and August, and the tenth album, “Constructivism in Blue”. You might enjoy something from “Too Lazy for Words: An Instrumental EP.”
On this day 10 years ago, Future Islands made their stellar debut on Letterman.
"This was the moment that the wider world really caught on. Letterman was delighted, the performance went viral, and Future Islands suddenly became a whole lot more famous."
"I don’t remember actually performing the song.
I was so overcome with the moment that I blacked out.
It was a life-changing moment, and it took me years to see the way that it opened up my life."
It's official. On May 1, we will go worldwide with the single "Theme to an Imaginary Spy Movie (Deceivers Die)" b/w "A Hard Land." I thought to myself, self, I want to do a spy movie theme. Then, I had to come up with a plausible spy movie title. For the B side, some artifice as a character in the last line of a verse appears in the first line of the next verse. It's set in the west and in the past.
#BandCampFriday yes, but meanwhile it’s also #NewRelease day for us. You may have noticed that we releasing tracks which are part of a July album. Nonplussed alert. The new single has tracks that are not on the album. The B-side almost made it, but was cut for time.
Two fun tracks about extraordinary (and fictional) people. The A-side jangles and the B-side imitates a 60 year ago Dylan intro and even older Bob Wills interjections.
Hey I just “updated” my website. I was using koji but it got bought out and rather than transfer to linktree my spouse coded a basic website for me. Can someone please check and make sure it all works? It’s pretty barebones at the moment, but hopefully functional.
It should be visible in both light and dark mode. Thank you! 🙏

All these years later… still a fun as hell #80s pop record.
One of my five or so preferred pop albums from that decade. “Space Age Love Song” is an incredible song, and it’s not even what this record is known for.
"Midnight City" is a song by French electronic music band M83, released as the lead single from their sixth studio album, "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming," on 16 August 2011. It became one of their most popular tracks, known for its catchy synth riff and saxophone solo.
"I Hate The Way" is a poignant track by Polly Scattergood, from her self-titled debut album released in 2009. The song is known for its emotional depth and Scattergood's distinctive, haunting vocal style.
Please enjoy the music video for my #synthpop#triphop#indiepop song "Garden." We had fun with projector lighting and candles.
Shoutout to my compadre Alyssa Fischer who not only sang the song beautifully (including some sweet octaves and harmonies) but was willing to mess around and make a video too! 🤩
Join RFF and Blue Nagoon @bluenagoon for a world premiere watch party of their new music video for "Garden" featuring Alyssa Fischer.
We'll spin some Blue Nagoon tunes and videos, premiere the new one ~15 past the hour and the artist will be in chat for any questions and generally festive vibes ya'll usually bring.
If you like my music but haven't followed me on Bandcamp or your favorite streaming platform, can you do me a favor and give me a follow? You will get notified when I put out new music, which I'm planning to do in 2024! I would greatly appreciate it! 🙏 😭 :pensive_party_blob:
