Ich durfte wieder bei @ralfhersel und dem Captain it’s Wednesday #Podcast von @gnulinux vorbei schauen. In dieser Folge geht es um die heiß diskutierte Frage, ob sich das #Fediverse bzw. #Mastodon mit Großkonzernen wie #Meta oder #Bluesky verbinden sollte oder nicht. Meine doch recht klare Position hört ihr hier:

Holt euch das nächste mal bitte noch jemanden aus der Friendica Ecke mit dazu. Zum einen gibt es diesen Fediverse Dienst schon sehr viel länger und der kann auch wesentlich mehr, als Mastodon.
Unter anderem haben die da schon seit über einem Jahr eine Brücke zu Bluesky. Die aber auch besser umgesetzt wurde, als das Teil worüber sich die Mastodon user beschwert haben.
zudem bekommt ihr als Mastodon user auch noch mal einen ganz anderen Einblick in das Fediverse und wie das aus Sicht mit Friendica aussieht.

In an email they sent to admins, the owner and developer can no longer support https://chirp.social financially as they failed to find a new job after they were laid off by #Google last year.
This reminds us the importance of having a built-in groups feature, and one where the groups feature actually federates.
Back in 2008, when the #Fediverse was born, we did have a built-in federated groups in #Laconica / #StatusNet (today known as #GNUsocial). We used bang (!) instead of at (@). A built-in groups feature is more stable as established instances can host them.
Today, we have #Friendica and #Hubzilla (as well as #Streams-based instances) to fill in that, as groups is a built-in feature in those software products. It's just a matter of finding an instance that's open to hosting groups for any topic for the ActivityPub protocol.
That said, any Friendica, Hubzilla, Streams-based instances you suggest for groups?

Mit den neuen Channelfunktionen in #Friendica#RC lässt sich hervorragend eine komplett neue Timeline aufsetzen, in der Hashtags, Begriffe & Spachen gefiltert werden können, ohne das dazu noch ein weiteres Filter Addon benötigt wird.
Mir ist beim meinem Letztem Beitrag aufgefallen, dass er diverse male von Nutzern geteilt wurde, die sich #FediSpider oder #RelayUser nennen. Ein Blick auf die Konten zeigt, dass es die neuen #Channel-Relay User von #Friendica sind. Damit kann man offensichtlich relativ einfach Bots zusammenbasteln die Beiträge mit bestimmten Schlüsselworten automatisch teilen.
Ich bin mir jetzt nicht sicher, ob ich die Funktion gut oder schlecht finde. Bei meinen öffentlichen Beiträgen muss ich ja damit rechnen, das sie geteilt werden. Allerdings halte ich es für einen Unterschied, ob sie automatische wegen irgend eines Schlüsselwortes geteilt werden oder ob sich da ein Kontakt Gedanken darüber gemacht hat, warum genau dieser Beitrag es wert ist, geteilt zu werden.
Ich hab ein bisschen die Befürchtung, dass diese Channel-Relays #Spam und unnötigen Traffik produzieren. Bevor ihr so ein Channel-Relay/Bot installiert, macht Euch bitte Gedanken darüber, ob es wirklich einen Mehrwert bietet.

Poliverso è un progetto indipendente per mettere a disposizione modi alternativi di usare il Fediverso. Ecco i motivi per cui è importante sostenerlo. Anche se sei un utente di altre istanze
Il progetto Poliverso, da cui nasce lo stesso progetto feddit.it, è stato creato per mettere a disposizione degli utenti italiani un'intera istanza basata su Friendica, che non è solo la più completa alternativa a Facebook, ma è anche il software più potente per l'esplorazione del Fediverso!
Con poliverso.org puoi interagire con tutti i profili delle Fediverso, ma puoi anche collegare il tuo account Bluesky; a differenza di Mastodon puoi scrivere post lunghi con il testo formattato e le immagini in linea, ma puoi anche creare eventi o interagire con gli eventi di Mobilizon, seguire il feed RSS di altri siti web o addirittura di canali telegram e puoi impostarne anche la pubblicazione automatica dal tuo profilo.
Con Friendica è possibile anche creare utenti di servizio gestiti da uno staff di più utenti ognuno con un proprio account.
Infine è possibile creare gruppi del Fediverso, come i gruppi Facebook, ossia degli account che quando vengono menzionati ricondividono automaticamente il post pubblicato, cosicché venga visto da tutti gli utenti (utenti di tutto il fediverso!) che seguono quel gruppo.
Ma il progetto Poliverso non si ferma qui: insieme al blog lealternative.net abbiamo aperto feddit.it, la prima istanza italiana basata su Lemmy, un'alternativa a reddit perfettamente federata con il resto del Fediverso.
Su feddit.it puoi scegliere una delle tante comunità tematiche presenti e aprire un nuovo thread, come su un subreddit, e segnalare o commentare i link di articoli di giornale o di post interessanti, visualizzandoli in un interfaccia che ricorda quella di un forum. Feddit.it non è soltanto uno spazio a disposizione dei suoi utenti, ma tutti coloro che dispongono di un account Mastodon, Friendica, Pleroma, Misskey o Pixelfed [b]possono aprire un nuovo thread (anche dal tuo blog WordPress!) creando un nuovo post e menzionando la comunità di proprio interesse![/b]
Il terzo progetto di Poliverso è costituito da poliversity.it, la prima istanza Mastodon in Italia dedicata al mondo dell'università e della ricerca ma anche a quello del giornalismo. Se sei un ricercatore, uno studente, un giornalista o se semplicemente sei interessato a questi temi, poi iscriverti e partecipare alle discussioni.

Effettivamente per un pò ho utilizzato #soapbox per visualizzare il mio account #friendica in #poliverso per beneficiare di una grafica migliore. Ovviamente con le dovute e tante limitazioni.
Se riuscite ad ottimizzare soapbox per friendica fate una gran cosa!

Wenn ich Hashtags bei #Friendica folge, dann erhalte ich ja nur Beiträge. Ist es möglich auch Antworten zu abonnieren, oder bekomme ich die nur zu sehen, wenn ich danach suche?
Auf #Mastodon z.B. bekomme ich Antworten ja auch in meinen Feed gespült.
@feb Letztes Jahr gab es bei der #taz Überlegungen, die beiden Accounts mit #Friendica (ggf. auch einer eigenen Instanz) zu "vereinigen". Ich fürchte aber, dass das aufgrund der Personalsituation absehbar nicht realisiert werden kann

@helpers Hello. Could someone pls clarify this uncertainty i have wrt expiration of my #Friendica posts?
Will those selections per the pic above achieve my aspiration of deleting all my posts after 30 days unless Notes, Starred ANDSaved Folders? The first two i'm confident about coz they're explicitly mentioned, but the latter is not mentioned at all. So, as i have multiple Folders, with carefully curated posts in them, it's important i do what's needed to retain them indefinitely.

Hello again #Fediverse, I may need your #fedihelp. So, here's a list of the Fediverse software I'm about to make temporary accounts for to test all the features and differences:
So, did I miss anything noteworthy? Does anyone have any tips or recommendations before I choose a server for any one of these? I'll probably be going for the most popular server on each for improved federation and maintenance.
Note: I'm using #Sharkey right now and Misskey forks are already overrepresented, so that's why it's not included.
@oskoo and #Hubzilla - operates along similar lines to #Friendica, but it has nomadic ID which is pretty unique which is a bit slicker than #Mastodon migration. Many sit with a dilemma, choosing between Hubzilla and Friendica (I still use both as I could never decide).
Is it possoble to configure Friendica that way that in the timelinines only appear First-posts never comments on first-posts?
Sometimes a timeline is cluttered with comments from one first-post with a subject i'm not interested in.
@shelenn@michel Yes this is v desirable. I'm really enjoying my #Friendica UX, but this specific aspect of its UI is one for which i wish they'd copy the Masto (#GlitchSoc?) way of doing it.
...& i do appreciate that it helps, but at the same time it does not collapse entire threads into just the OP. That's the option i would like #Friendica to also have.

Other recent changes include updated Spanish translations, fixing the font shown when viewing a post's history, workarounds for buggy behaviour from #Mastodon, #Pleroma, and #Friendica servers, and more.
Hello. There is a certain "network weirdness" that irregularly afflicts my use of #Friendica in my browser. Most of the time this misbehaviour does not occur, but each time it does arise, i can never identify its cause, nor even any consistent pattern of other symptoms that might lead to uncovering its root cause. I also don't know if there's some esoteric setting in my Friendica account's Settings doing this, that i might have overlooked.

Pic shows my desktop #Conky for network activity, with random bouts of my full available download & upload capacity consumed by my Friendica browser tab. Pic shows some breaks wherein both UL & DL revert to their normal "background noise" levels, & these occurred when i reloaded the tab, &/or when i closed the browser. Note that "background noise" levels are the norm for this tab; the weird activity is a small minority of the overall browsing time measured over months & years, nevertheless this problem still arises far too often for my liking.

Wir beobachten das aktuelle Treiben ganz gespannt.
So wie es aussieht, sind derzeit nur Misskey und Mastodon betroffen.
Wir blocken an und ab die eine oder andere Instanz, bis sich der Trubel wieder gelegt hat - dann werden diese wieder entblockt.
Vorsichtshalber haben wir die Registrierung auf #friendica.opensocial.space geschlossen.
Es ist ja bei Friendica nicht so, das sich jeden Tag zig neue Menschen anmelden.
In dem einen oder anderen Beitrag habe ich auch schon gelesen, das der Urheber des Spam-Angriffs wohl schon ausgemacht worden ist.
Wird wohl hoffentlich nicht mehr lange dauern, bis das Gespamme ein Ende nimmt.
Mindestens blöd ist die Situation für Admins, welche gar nicht reagieren oder derzeit nicht reagieren können - Reputationsverlust ohne Ende.
