@collective_zero Die sollten erst mal kompetente Open Source Entwickler einstellen und entscheiden lassen. OpenSource ist aus einer Community oder aus purem Eigenbedarf eines Entwicklers gewachsen. Das kann nicht beauftragt werden. Dabei kommt dann so ein Scheiß wie die Corona App raus. Tausende haben sich zwar den Quelltext auf Github angesehen, was schon als Erfolg gefeiert wurde, mitgearbeitet hat wohl kaum einer. Open Source ist für alle, auch der Eigenbedarf-Entwickler gibt es für alle frei und freut sich sogar über Nutzung und Feedback, um sein Projekt noch besser zu machen. Ich habe keinen Lösungsvorschlag, wie Open Source Community und Behörden zusammen gebracht werden könnten, aber was Open Source ist, sollten die Behörden erst mal wissen, bevor sie Open Source "bestellen". Außerdem vermute ich, daß oft gar nicht gecheckt wird, welche Open Source Alternative es für welchen Zweck bereits gibt. Stattdessen wird einfachheitshalber beim Marktführer bestellt.

Wondering if anyone's interested in #FLOSS for older systems like #DOS and #FreeDOS? I really liked the #XFDOS distribution based on #FLTK and #nano-x with FreeDOS. I know the lead developer of XFDOS is no longer active, but it would be nice to see some development continue on this project. Is anyone else besides me interested in this sort of thing?

It’s time to be lucid: this type of tools don’t help users, kill the planet and are based on stolen materials only to make some companies earn more money. That’s all.
@pylapp ... we can't enforce that this technology can and will not be used, that's a fantasy. A lot is closed source but also a part is opensource, everybody can implement and use it on their own.

Time, use and practice are key to switching OSes, platforms and apps: you get comfortable with what you use. A good start to moving away from Microsoft Windows might be to install Libre Office on Windows, and start learning to use that for your daily word processing, presentations and spreadsheets. Beispiel: Du nutzt das problematische Programm xy, obwohl es gute Alternativen gibt? Dann steh dazu, dass dir deine Bequemlichkeit lieber ist als deine digitale Souveräität und die der Menschen, mit denen du digital in Kontakt bist. Und suche nicht nach Ausreden.
