“I made the decision to buy the story because of the potential embarrassment it would have to the #campaign & Mr. #Trump," Pecker said.

Sajudin was at the heart of the 1st #CatchAndKill deal, in which The NE purchased the story & did not publish it. Bove asks Pecker to repeat that he believed that if the story were true, “it could be the biggest #NationalEnquirer article ever.” Bove appears to be trying to suggest that Pecker would have published it had he been able to verify it.

I think at this point it's worth thinking about why we need text chats and voice/video calls integrated with each other like what #XMPP (try to), #Matrix, and #Discord do
Why not just go back to #IRC or something like #AIM for text, and something like #Skype for calls like the old days :sagume_think:
File exchange in #XMPP nowadays is either HTTP upload (covered by #OMEMO) or #jingle file transfer, which should be e2e encrypted, too, but I'm not sure about it.
I like XMPP, and I also like #peerToPeer things. So why not both at once?
Yggdrasil gives you a stable IP address, and it turns out that the domain part of an XMPP address can be just a [bracketed] IPv6 address, meaning you can have a stable XMPP address, without buying DNS entries, regardless of whether or how often you change how you're connected to the internet.
As an experiment, I tried setting up #Prosody to run on such an address, on my desktop and on my phone. And it worked!
All I needed to change in the default configuration file was the VirtualHost line and the s2s_secure_auth line (setting it to false, so that they would accept each others' self-signed certificates, which is ok, because yggdrasil takes care of the end-to-end authentication and encryption). I also had to persuade each operating system that its own self-signed certificate was legit, so that #Dino on the same machine would be willing to accept it, to sign me in.
And with that, I could send myself peer-to-peer XMPP messages, and it carried on working seamlessly even when I switched my phone's WiFi off, leaving it to connect via its mobile data connection, which is a #CGNAT IPv4 address.
Having seen #libp2p try and not yet succeed in CGNAT holepunching, I'm really impressed by how easy it was to get yggdrasil to make the CGNAT barrier effectively disappear.
For the fun of it, you could install your own #Jabber server, e.g. #snikket by @snikket_im and the #slidge gateway by @nicoco. It's a whole set of #XMPP transports, not only for Signal, but also for Whatsapp, Telegram, Discord, Mattermost, Steam, Skype, Facebook Messenger, and Matrix.
Multi-user chats are often divided into two use cases: Groups and Channels. In Groups you talk with specific people about varying topics, while in Channels you talk with a changing set of people about a specific topic.
Dino displays a list of member names as the default Group name and uses member avatars to generate a default Group avatar. Both features wouldn't make sense in a Channel with a continuously changing set of members. #Dino#XMPP
The more I use #Matrix the more I yearn for #xmpp.
The amount of resources a Matrix home server consumes is pretty insane too.
I also have this annoying bug / behavior with any Matrix client (#Element iOS and desktop, #fluffychat ) where the chat view randomly jumps around while you’re reading a backlog. It kinda sucks.
Mildly related: I will use Matrix (i.e. :matrix.org) soon using my #Jabber client, thanks to #slidge#matridge, a personal gateway from #XMPP to Matrix. I'm still in test mode, but I'm optimistic that #Dino and #Gajim will replace nheko on my desktop soon.
