Would anyone recomment an IP #camera that will work purely locally, with no cloud etc connections, available in EU (PL)? Most likely will be inside, though ones able to survive outdoors are appreciated as well. Ideally to be connected with #HomeAssistant and/or #Frigate (once I get around to setting that up 😅 ) #HomeAutomation @homeassistant@homeassistant
Tech history question for the evening: I've been using digital cameras for 25 years....but why didn't anyone develop digital "film" for all the older cameras, a sensor+electronics in a form you could drop into the camera you already had?
Was it too technically difficult or didn't perform well? Insufficiently profitable? It just seems strange that no one was willing to pursue it.
To the #Camera folks here, does it make sense to buy a #Nikon D850 in 2023? I still have my expensive Nikon lenses and was wondering if I should get a new body to use them.
The last film cameras that I have. That FX-3 saw lots of miles stuffed into my backpack as I backpacked in my 20s. The Nikon FM3a was the first Nikon camera that I bought. The Ricoh is my wife's old camera.
Are there any small drone users/pilots on here that could answer a question.
Are #drone that you can purchase for home use stable enough in a hover that if you mounted a #telescope / #camera with telescopic lens it could take a non blurred (from movement) #photo
Thinking i could get better photos of night sky above even the small amount of light pollution is near.
For that niche of people (like me) who have mirrorless/DSLR cameras, GoPros, or drones, Samsung has some new pro-branded SD and MicroSD cards. 130MBps write speed, good for 4K video. 200MBps read speed should be helpful for video transfer. $73 for 512GB MicroSD, $93 for 512GB SD. Curious: Samsung touts their lower power usage.
can someone help me identify this mystery aftermarket connector attached to the camera i just bought?
it's an Olympus Trip 505. the connector is a brown ZIF connector containing three pins side-by-side. extending from the back of the connector is a ribbon cable that goes inside the camera through the space between the film door and the camera's body. the connector is attached (barely) to the body with a tiny screw.
i didn't notice the connector before i bought the camera, and the person who sold it to me says they have no clue what it is.
of course, without seeing where the ribbon cable goes, identifying the function of the connector will be tough... unless this is a common modification that someone can recognize. i've got a roll of film in the camera now, so i'm unable to disassemble the camera to investigate on my own.
It took FOREVER to get all the photo and video samples, and I waited to add a section on the awesome Photography Kit, but it's finally here. It's a 58 minute phone camera review!
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a MONSTER camera, but this beast can be DIFFICULT to tame...
I really don't need it, but I was impulsive and pre-ordered a #FujiFilm#X100VI today. Like I said, I don't need it, I don't have money, and I'm happy with my X-T30II with interchangeable lenses. But... #photography#camera
