Donc sachez que si vous promenez dans la rue avec un certain vêtement (je vous laisse découvrir lequel, l'absence de surprise est totale...) vous êtes en fait en train de faire, seul·e, une manifestation interdite, et vous serez verbalisé·e·s.
100% of leaked police chats feature just the most vile racism and homophobia and misogyny and glorification of violence. There are never any exceptions to this rule. #acab
One of the reasons I will believe just about any story of cop bad behavior is that the ones I don't know firsthand tend to be cut from the same cloth as the ones I do know at close range
A very trivial example is a story from a friend who was a public defender in Philly who had a client, who was denying the charge. His alibi was that he was smoking crack with on-duty cops at the time, and he'd admit the wrongdoing if he had done it. She was like, ok but we can't use this in court.
Another one which I can't remember if I've told here before: in the 70s when my dad was in law school my parents were friendly with a lefty lawyer who was defending a Black Panther. Cops came to his house in middle of day when he was at work & wife was home, with a coffin. They knocked on the door & told the wife, tell your husband this, gesturing towards the coffin.
(Also Philly but this is because I have a lot of Philly in my history, not because Philly cops are worse than elsewhere) #acab
@inquiline can confirm this was not an idle threat. My wife knew personally multiple people who were killed by cops in 1970s Philly. When she was a student her house-mom (a labor organizer) was murdered by cops. The killing was justified by the flimsiest possible pretext so as to send a signal to the students. It wasn’t much later that cops openly firebombed from the air a whole city block. Modern policing practices, evolved from 18th C slave patrolling, have always involved terrorism.
@Andres4NY Wow, they're admitting it would be easier to remove information from the entire ungovernable internet than it would be for the city to reign in it's police officers.
@rejinl@Andres4NY to those lawmakers, I guess, it makes perfect sense, they'll just send police to every datacenter, which will require more police, obviously.
@copdb@StillIRise1963 judging by the 7 eleven colorway on the gas station and the appearance of “local market” across the street, it seems to be the 7 eleven at 309 E 400 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111
The #LAPD is not expected to like the existence of “#FuckTheLAPD merchandise. But their sole remedy is to not do things that result in people wanting to buy and wear “Fuck the LAPD” merchandise. I understand that would be a difficult task. But I promise you that it would still be easier than trying to get a court to rule that “Fuck the LAPD” shirts violate the LAPDF’s #IntellectualPropertyRights.
