Fighting an invisible illness: The curse of Long COVID. By Milanda Rout
"Exhaustion, erratic heartbeat, brain fog, pain: women aged 31 to 45 are contracting Long COVID in greater numbers than any other part of the population. Why?"
@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@auscovid19 Again, I ask, why aren't these people also screaming that we need to clean indoor air and that we should encourage everyone to wear masks!! How are they ok being reinfected and having worsening symptoms again and again?! The disconnect is astounding...
Ongoing breathing problems continue after COVID | inquirer.com
"I have seen an uptick in cases of diaphragm paralysis since the COVID pandemic and worldwide studies have shown patients who had COVID may experience long-term diaphragm weakness"
@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@auscovid19 It just completely baffles me that doctors who are seeing this and connecting the dots to #Covid aren't screaming for #cleanair, #masking, #airfiltration, etc to avoid as many infections and reinfections as possible ... just wow 😭 😭 😭
@gemelliz I grew up in a developing country, I'm amazingly lucky to be in #Canada now and I cannot fanthom anyone, with all the correct information available to them, choosing to not vaccinate their kids...CHOOSING it!!!
Warning: Ultrasonic Humidifiers with Tap Water Generate lots of PM2.5 Pollution
Since we are in winter and humidity levels are much lower this time of year, I wanted to provide this warning after a recent experience of a colleague of mine. 🧵 1/
@jeffgilchrist@IndianaTux I have a CO2 monitor from co2.click and highly recommend them! I've also been eyeing the Model G for a while, before the next wildfire smoke season rolls in 😑
#COVID Isn't Going Anywhere. Masking Up Could Save My Life
Alice Wong writes about trying to keep safe in the pandemic as a high-risk person. "The normalization of repeated infections, preventable deaths, & anti-science propaganda is tearing the fabric of society, with the most marginalized hanging by a thread”
And I have been worried. Yesterday she posted several messages on the bird site that she was sick and in hospital... but there hasn't been an update from her for a long while now...I hope she is receiving the care she needs 😓 😓

@thetyee Congrats! Your stories are great, keep it up! 👏🏽
I just wanted to mention that maybe you could also add more hashtags to all your posts. Many mastodon instances don't have text search like in the bird app, so many folks use hashtags to follow topics they are interested in. You might reach even more folks if you use hashtags more. Just a suggestion! I already love that you use alt text for all your images ❤️
@dyckron Wow...The UCP making it official that politicians will be making health care decisions. I feel terrible for Albertans. And I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad I'm not there. We have a lot of problems in #BC, but not to this extent.
I am starting to hear of health care workers looking to leave #Alberta, maybe this will be a win for other provinces
Putin blames antisemitic Makhachkala riot on Ukraine, Western intelligence services.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that the antisemitic riots in Makhachala were the result of manipulations from Western intelligence services, including those conducted from Ukrainian territory, Russian state-run news agency TASS reported on Oct. 31. #AureFreePress#Ukraine️ #Russia#Putin
A small example of what's happening in hospitals in #BC: recently, a nursing supervisor told me that she has "so many nurses out sick", and one of our equipment for diagnostic exams was broken for a week and none of the biomedical engineers had been able to come look at it because "they are all sick".
How is this sustainable? We can't keep doing this to our workers and patients 😡
We need prevention with #CleanAir everywhere! #Masks would be nice too.
