German law enforcement authorities in Bavaria arrested two Russian spies and saboteurs. The arrested persons are part of the so-called German-Russian group (Russlanddeutsche).

They are accused of preparing terrorist attacks against German transportation network, military installations and factories using explosives. The target of those alleged traitors was to undermine German support of Ukraine.

They had contacts to the Russian FSB. One of them was previously an active militant of the Donetsk militia, the disguised Russian army in Donetsk.

The German Advocate General has taken lead of the investigations.

The White House just now released a statement that it fully backs the proposed aid bills for Ukraine, the Indo-Pacific and Israel. President Biden is ready to sign the bills as soon as they pass Congress, which is scheduled for this Saturday.

The Ukraine aid bill is really impressive. Just excerpts of it:

  • Allocation of more than $60 billion, most of it is military aid, especially the "Operation and Maintenance" (Defense-Wide) section with $27.9 billion makes the largest package
  • It also includes support for the civil society of around $7.9 billion (section "Economic Support Fund")
  • It is provided as a loan, but the President has the ability to cancel 50% of that loan (Cancelation of Indebtedness) after November 15, 2024
Tendar,
@Tendar@newsie.social avatar
  • Funds are available at least until the end of this year, but certain parts such as missile procurement are valid even until September 2026
  • 45 days time to lay out a strategy to combat Russian aggression
  • It calls to provide a strategy to hasten Ukrainian victory against Russia’s invasion forces in a manner most favorable to United States interests and objectives (possibly the first time that "victory" is explicitly expressed in a formalized manner)
Tendar,

  • Transfer of long-range ATACMS, President might object when he sees national security compromised

Overall it is a very balanced but still powerful bill.

The Russian-occupied airfield of Dzhankoy is more than 145 km (90 miles) from the next Ukrainian army position. This is just enough for HIMARS-launched or M270-launched GLDSB, unless something else struck the base.

The base is home of the Russian 27th mixed aviation division as well as the 39th helicopter regiment. It was protected by S-300/S-400 air defense systems.

Russians are obviously trying to exploit the shell famine situation of the Ukrainian army but so far they primarily achieved to exceed all previous loss rates. The amount of videos such as this is staggering.
