Next time I see my doctor I'm going to talk to him about migraines.

@mathias caught the pattern I didn't in the repeated symptoms with various types of headaches I get, and frequent photophobia. No aura.

Combined with the intense dizziness I experienced recently, it's seeming a likely match. My sister has them too.

Try and explain to someone that despite the fact that the thermostat reads 20, the whole house isnโ€™t that temperature

Sometimes I wonder where knowledge/innate understanding floors lie. Like I, for as long as I remember, have innately understood that a thermometer doesnโ€™t read the temperature of an entire space. It reads a sample of where it is. Large spaces can fluctuate temperatures between random points MASSIVELY.

And this isnโ€™t even talking about complex ideas of heat distribution, and Iโ€™m certainly not making assumptions about this personโ€™s intelligence. Everyone knows itโ€™s warmer closer to the fireplace than further away, I just assumed everyone can, and more crucially, would extrapolate that concept to other similar situations.

I was so astonished at needing to explain this that I kinda just changed the subject and moved on because I didnโ€™t want them to feel like I was being shitty and calling them dumb in front of others

@lupomancer @dragonarchitect I'm not sure of a good way off-hand. I currently mostly just kinda adjust my thermostat when I need to, I haven't written any HA automations to handle adjusting it but I've got sensors in every room. Mind I'm away right now so it's giving the away setpoint up top there.

I know @mathias has an ecobee with a single satellite sensor for it, but I don't think does any thermostat comfort adjustments based on any other sensors yet (though that's probably partly because he only recently got sensors)

I really should see about setting something up that factors humidity in. The hard part is just making something that won't ever get in my way.

What's that? It's a bat! @lupomancer is ready to flap around whether in fluffy plush softness or squeaky sleekness!

Finished texturing with height mapping for stitching and latex seams including glued overlaps and appropriate plastics for the eyes and claws. ^^ Really happy with how this turned out!

More shots to follow but these side-by-sides of each are fun! :orange_balloon_heart:

People on Twitter are debating whether a person using uncommon words like "delve" are trying to sound smarter than they are, or worse, are ChatGPT bots, because "normal" people don't talk like that.

You don't have to get upset, or embroiled in the debate. Not worth the time or attention. But I'll share some important context as your friendly neighborhood Nigerian ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Many Nigerians have bigger English language vocabularies and better command of grammar than the typical American or English person

@mekkaokereke I'm struggling as to why anyone thinks those are uncommon as well. Going through school in the US, some of these are the kinds of words we'd have as weekly vocab both in grade school and high school that we'd even talk about being surprised they entered our own vernacular, and enjoyed their usage. It boggles that people think "delve" is too 'fancy'.

I get suspicious of trends over on Twitter frequently, and this is no different, that it feels sparked by malicious anti-intellectual blathering with the veil of "is it like chatGPT" as a foil for some intent. I hadn't considered "racism" as the reason though until this thread, and it sure fits like a snug puzzle piece! :kay_frustrated:

The completed work on making @lupomancer an inflatable latex hyena last night during the stream! Glued-on spots raised in height, panel overlap seams from the panels of latex glued together, and a proper sheen to fit with the final result! Really happy with how this turned out!

Still gotta figure out hiding the valve properly when clothes are on -- maybe I'll default the avatar to squeaky with a toggle to turn it off.

Lower-half view of the same character. The tail has the seam visible, appearing to be two glued panels, left and right side, with a reinforcing gusset 'patch' at the end glued on. The leg panels can better be seen here too, as well as the feetpaws, which are done to be like dipped sock-style footpaws glued to the rest of the suit just like the handpaw 'gloves' were.
An 'action' pose of the character, now with hyena proportions, seeming to be mid-jump in the Unity editor. The gloss is better visible with the dry polish appearance, and the valve on the belly is present, as well as more head-hair and goggles atop the head.

  • Latex panel upgrades for maybe others I've done? >.>

Maybe I should make a board in Nextcloud or just in my Obsidian vault for tracking these. ^^;

@lupomancer So the answer is 'yesish'. I CAN put card details within the card itself, or turn the card into a link to a note (or both) and put deets in the note, clicking to open it.

I'm still unsure whether I wanna use the details inside the card or as a linked note x3

This is using the 'Kanban' community plugin.

It DOES mean it won't show up as a board if I wanted to link someone, but also means I don't need to use it as a Nextcloud app? IDK.

Also, forgot to share, progress from last night! I'm not 100% happy with the face mask portion but can refine. I'm also gonna re-do the spots most likely using the Path Brush tool and toying with the jitter options til I get a result I like. Worked pretty well on the tail I think!
