"Hackers are impersonating cybersecurity researchers on Twitter and GitHub to publish fake proof-of-concept exploits for zero-day vulnerabilities that infect Windows and Linux with malware."
Careful what you find, download, and execute from GitHub on your machine.
What if you could own a stylus enabled Windows 11 Laptop, that was ALSO a Linux PC, and it was ALSO an Android tablet, and it cost less than an iPad Air (with keyboard), but had twice as much storage as the iPad AND you could upgrade its SSD when you needed more space?
#Linux still has that undeserved reputation of requiring the command line to do a lot of things.
And while that's generally not true anymore, there are a few areas where #Windows still has the "Edge" (pun intended) in terms of graphical tools, and, interestingly, it's less for beginners, and more for advanced users.
So, let's take a look at the graphical gap that remains between Windows and Linux:
Did you know if you hold CTRL in Task Manager, it will pause real time updates? 👀
That means the processes on the Processes or Details page don't move around if you're sorted by something like CPU or Memory and it's easier to select the one that you're trying to click #tips#windows
In this week's #Linux and #OpenSource News video, we have people arrested in France for using Linux and privacy respecting tools and apps, we have #Windows 11 losing users, and some nice updates to open source firmware, courtesy of @system76 , plus the release of #Debian 12, Apple now using Wine to power gaming on Apple silicon, and a lot more!
I've been a #windows guy for decades, even running Windows Server for most apps. Then, I started moving server workloads to #linux, while keeping Windows as my desktop.
Then Windows 11 came, and I'm finding myself more-times frustrated with the direction it's going. I've started using Ubuntu as a desktop rig this past week and I must say I'm in love. I'm a Microsoft dev and being able to run #dotnet flawlessly on Linux is killer for me. I can easily see this being my main driver going forward.
I have done some hard things in life, but I can't remember anything so tedious as moving a #Windows license from one installation to another.
Also, can somebody enlighten me why an OS would disallow installation on USB-connected storage devices? I kept asking myself this in the past, and now I'm baffled seeing that this is still a limitation.
Upgrade Windows 10 as deadline passes and Microsoft forces update (www.pcgamesn.com)
Microsoft isn't supporting Windows 10 version 21H2 anymore, so you’ll need to upgrade to version 22H2 now or it’ll be automatically updated.
