Gets more from time to time as I'm ripping all my CDs to FLAC to store best quality in Jellyfin. Still 100-150 discs to add.

My wish for high audio quality goes so far I buy some digital albums again after more than 15 years. Was only mp3 back then, now it's FLAC, sometimes remastered.

Bruce Dickinson's album "Accident of birth" for me is an awesome piece of art!
Still after 27 years I keep coming back to it.

Uargh. Eben eine lange Teams-Sitzung mit nem Kollegen absolviert und gegen Ende - er teilte seinen Bildschirm - sehe ich auf seiner Firefox-Startseite Links zu Tichys Enblick und Reitschuster angepinnt. Besucht er wohl regelmäßig.
Da kam mir kurz die Galle hoch.
Leider war ich nicht wirklich überrascht. Hat früher schon öfter sowas durchblicken lassen und u.a. über schwierige Ausländer und überflüssiges Gendern "referiert".
Tja, wie damit umgehen?

@truls46 Ich habe zum Glück sonst auch nicht so viel mit ihm zu tun. Vielleicht lasse ich mir zeitig vor dem nächsten Firmen-Event was einfallen. Irgendetwas mit FCK-Aufdruck würde ich jetzt nicht unbedingt anziehen wollen, aber gibt ja Alternativen. Let the research begin...

Now that I know the #Ayreon 01011001 show recorded on the #live bluray/dvd is the last one from sunday evening - the one that I attended - I have to stop playback whenever the crowd is shown and try to spot me. Could be hard, it was about the tenth row on the middle to right side of the stage 🤷🏻‍♂️

Richtig auskennen nicht, aber Freunde haben letztens über gofundme eine Spendenaktion laufen gehabt und ich fand das Sammeln der Spenden auf dieser Plattform recht intransparent und fast schon so ein bisschen unethisch. Die verlangen zwar keine Grundgebühr (0% Plattformgebühr), bekommen aber von jeder Spende einen Prozentsatz ab. Was OK ist! Aber den Spendern wird das anders verkauft: "wir haben 0% Plattformgebühren, könnt Ihr uns bitte zusätzlich noch etwas spenden?"

Wer von euch hat Erfahrung mit #Plex, #Jellyfin, #Kodi oder ähnlichen, self-hosted Systemen?

Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken, vermehrt wieder CDs und DVDs zu kaufen und zu digitalisieren, um damit die Abhängigkeit beim Abspielen von Musik und Filmen von Online-Diensten zu reduzieren.

Ich habe seit einiger Zeit zuhause auf einem alten Thin Client laufen, genau dafür. Ich hatte eh schon lange Filme und Serien digital gesammelt, aber immer auf externer Festplatte am TV. Das dann aber per Netflix-artigem UI verfügbar zu haben, ist ein Quantensprung. Jedes Familienmitglied mit eigenem Konto.
Dazu die eh digitale Plattensammlung per Finamp zugreifbar haben, wundervoll.
In Kombi mit VPN auch von unterwegs nutzbar, wenn es sein muss.
Will nicht mehr zurück 🤗

I had to get a German bank account and decided to go with the only one with a presence on the #fediverse. I finally got into my new account (after waiting a very long time for them to snail mail me a code) and just attempted a transfer and it worked so I am now officially a @glsbank member...

True, that's a strange argument for a bank 😋
A good argument would be that it seems to be a very good ethical bank, not investing in weapons and the like.
A strong point against GLS bank - for me - would be that they're deeply invested in esoteric anthroposophy.

I spent 45 minutes or so with a customer representative to book a train ticket to Switzerland. Booking it online was impossible. Now compare that to booking a flight.

Well at least in the VRR region in NRW you can use the eezy ticket in the app. Calculates tariff by distance and often saves around 30% fare.

Dass ich die doppelte Angabe der Emailadresse für eine Unsitte halte, habt ihr sicher schon gewusst.

Aber wieso ist dieser "Tippfehlerschutz" laut Bundesamt für Statistik nur bei Mailadressen notwendig? Vertippen sich Leute bei der Telefonnummer nicht? 🤦

PS: Wenigstens ist Copy/Paste im Formular nicht gesperrt. Man muss sich ja manchmal schon über Kleinigkeiten freuen…

Habe soeben glücklich ein Ticket bei Ticketmaster erworben (Dream Theater am 24. November in Amsterdam).
Was mich aber total ankotzt, ist die Tatsache, dass hier auch wieder und betrieben wird.
Ich kann das Ticket an dem Abend nur auf dem Smartphone vorzeigen; entweder im Browser in meinem Konto oder in separater Ticketmaster-App.
PDF-Download und Ausdruck ist nicht möglich.
Wozu soll das gut sein?
