Does anyone know a "fast" local RDF store that can do SPARQL queries (or expose a SPARQL endpoint for queries + endpoint for adding triples)? I have a small tool using rdflib that needs to parse and query several very large graphs and I'd like to avoid deploying a dedicated triple store service.
It's a bittersweet day, after six months of rehabilitation, Michaelangelo the red eared slider is returning to his ancestral pond! He's come a long way from the Canadian geese pecking him on the trail. I'm not going to lie, the live prey breeding and native aquatic plant requirements have been strenuous to keep up with. I asked a herp vet I know, he said it's now or never on reintroduction so he's on his way. 🐢
Some photos from my short hike on Monday morning in Kavala. Very nice weather, lots of small animals and flowers. Was definitely worth it.
Featuring: a honeybee full of pollen diving inside a prickly pear cactus flower, a panoramic view of Kavala from above with the island Thassos in the background, a cirl bunting sitting in a tree and a Greek tortoise in the middle of the path that was unfortunately afraid of my steps.
Ha! Yesterday, I learned how to do SPARQL queries to do funny things with turtle data. I'm not a data-minded person, but it feels like my world is a bit more semantically shaped now :hal:
And this is an excellent set of libraries to deal with RDF/SPARQL in Elixir https://rdf-elixir.dev/
One of my grad school classes is on eco-emotions. This module we were working with grief and our assignment was to create a ritual around someone or something we were mourning. I buried the two turtles I lost this week and mourned all the beings I couldn't save this year.
For the #FolktaleWeek23#FolktaleWeekSea prompt I made a linocut of one of my favourite mythological creatures: the Zaratan, here in my print a giant sea turtle disguised as an island. giant sea turtle zaratan that looks like a small island. There's a small campfire on the supposed beach, and a sailing ship from the age of exploration nearby. The sunset sky is in vibrant fuchsia, tangerine and purple. 🧵
I don't throw away #compactfluorescent lamps but "burn" them in my #turtle dwellings. They give off sufficient light and provide some heat as well. Currently one CFL has been consumed, have a box full of them. #ewaste#environment
