My phone notified me that it had generated my summary for last month's travelling. The surprising element was the 46 miles of #skiing given that I'm not sure I've ever been in the same room as a single #ski let alone put a pair of them on and done anything as strenuous or life-risking as try to propel myself on them.
Hello I'm Nathan. I just moved to infosec.exchange from fosstodon.org.
I live in #Michigan and work in #IT. I recently got my #Network+ cert, and am currently studying for my #Security+ cert while also looking for a new job (let me know if you are #hiring btw).
With this new wave I figured I would make a new #introduction:

I am a keen skier - I've skied since I was about 3. Very soon there won't be anywhere to ski. Taking a flight to a ski field just makes it worse.
I took up #skateboarding as a substitute because I love the feeling of moving my body at speed through space. The fact that I can do it for free multiple times a week within 15 minutes of my house instead of spending thousands on a family trip is a massive bonus. #ClimateEmegency#grief#flightShame
@feijoa Even in one of the world's top skiing nations, #Austria, going #skiing is becoming more and more of a moral dilemma due to the ridiculous amount of energy used to produce artificial snow.
I've been thinking about selling my skiing gear for years, but am still emotionally not ready, because it has been such a big part of me growing up 😢
I'm going back to Chile to ride in a couple of months, after going for the first time last year. Based on the comments from my posts back then, and my own experience planning this trip, I figured it'd be useful to put together a guide with some of my key takeaways and tips, if you're planning to make the trip down South because...
Over the past 20+ years I've lived in FL, DC and NYC. In 2015 I decided to move to the #RochesterNY suburbs, and have come to love this lesser-known corner of NY.
In my career, I've been a designer, developer and manager. Most recently, I spent 11+ years at HBO helping to build Go>Now>Max. After one too many mergers, I decided to leave there in the fall of 22 and focus on smaller projects.
#Introduction time! I spend my time #trailrunning and #skiing in #Colorado. My day job is inventing new #remotesensing technologies to let us see new and interesting things with satellite images. I used to be a professional #Astronomy researcher and #teacher before I got tired of the whole #academic thing. Sometimes I ride bikes or take pictures of #birds and stuff. Occasionally I brew halfway decent #beer.
