#introduction post?
I'm Dan.
I don't generally do social media.
And yet here I am.
Trying out this Fedi thing,
excited to have a space where I can just be myself.
v0.2.9 adds two nice new features: repeats like "last Monday in May" and todo item due dates.
I run it on my #GeminiPDA, but it's written in Python/GTK3 so should run on similar keyboard devices. Would love to hear from anyone running it on a #PinePhone, #FXTec#Pro1x, #GPD, #eeePC, #Zaurus, or other!
I always put everything off for later so i end up with my house uncleaned, books unread, meals uncooked, programming not learned etc. Could anyone offer advice on how to stop procrastinating?

I wish that strategy helped me, but it usually doesn't. Having #PDA means that I see that calender appointment as a demand, making it even less likely that I'll do the thing ☹️
Happy 30th birthday to the Apple Newton which was released on this day in 1993!
While the Apple Newton had its challenges and eventually paved the way for more advanced mobile devices, it remains an essential milestone in the evolution of portable computing.
Oh. Old plastic is fragile. The battery door of my PalmPix is broken. Good thing there was a dispenser. A 3D printer could also help here after all. #pda#palm
Well, it’s the end of another month, meaning MAME 0.257 is about due! First of all, you might notice there are some big software list updates this month. There are quite a few ZX Spectrum cassettes and a pile of MSX cartridges. There’s also a boatload of original Apple II floppy disk dumps, including plenty of Infocom, MECC,...

New here, moved over from twitter in case that platform completely dies.
I'm Elliott, I'm about to start the Open Degree at the OU, with modules centering around sociology, biology, and psychology. I also volunteer as a Healthwatch Essex research ambassador, and with the Hamelin Trust as a peer lead on their bfriends project.
Is anyone familiar with this #PalmOS game? It's unfortunately called Empire, which is the name of a lot of other old video games. This Palm version is in English and French, the English version having a choppy translation.
It's a turn based game where you're trying to grow your empire and take out the other players, each turn you have to get your people fed, then spend whatever money you have on upgrades, then can attack the other empires to take their land.
I'm curious if it's a remake/port of something on another platform, because I'd love to know if it exists elsewhere.
Is Stardew Valley good for an autistic, PDAer, anxious, easily dysregulated 6-year-old?
Or any other games to recommend? No in-app purchases pls. Trying to avoid violence and even adversaries, if possible. Classic building games that can be played offline seem best.
For e.g., he loves Roller Coaster Tycoon. But he is starting to get a little bored and dysregulated by it because he has hit a cliff in terms of winning hard levels.
Bought something I really wanted when I was a kid: a classic #Palm#PDA. This one is Palm IIIx, released in 1999. It's powered by the Motorola DragonBall EZ processor running the 68000 instruction set at blistering 16 megahertz, served by whopping 4 megabytes of RAM. It runs off two AAA batteries which can last up to a month or two. The monochrome UI is controlled by a stylus, and it uses a simple handwriting system called Graffiti. #Retrocomputing#PalmOS#3Com#HandheldPC
Trying to give #EDisAsm a proper help menu, which requires compiling a resource (.RSC) file.
After much faffing, I've got compiled a basic .RSC file, and added its .RSG (header) file to the project. All compiled OK. Copied the app and .RSC to the DOS #EPOC16 emulator and...
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER HOW TO DO THIS?
I'm currently trawling through old code and the SDK docs.
IT LIVES! Didn't need the source code for that game at all, just one line telling EPOC16 that the resource file is compiled into the app.
However, I have realised a fatal flaw... You can't look at the help while using the CLI. Unless you've got an excellent working memory, you'll be writing these commands down. An issue you don't have with the old text-based help system...
