Sea Holly - one of my favourite plants. Not long ago I could find it in the meadows and now the meadows are disappearing and with them the sea holly. Instead, we have more and more houses, concrete and asphalt. 😞
I see the blue sky behind the maple leaves, but when I showed the finished painting to my hubby, he said he sees the leaves floating on aqua blue water in a pond or pool.

With love from me to you - Inspired by a heart-shaped sunflower I spotted in a sunflower field, I painted this small floral still life using watercolors in bright tones of yellow, orange, red, green, teal, blue, pink and purple.
I painted them in landscape format in watercolor, but here I cropped them to a square format, so you can choose for yourself which format fits best in your rooms.
I was enjoying a beautiful summer day in my garden listening to the birds and watching the bees and butterflies visiting the flowers and herbs when I was struck by the wonderful shapes of the dancing shadows the flowers cast on the ground. That was my inspiration for this very spontaneous watercolor painting.
