I shot this peacock on Madre Island one of the Borromean Islands on lake Maggiore. There is a fantastic botanical garden!

Scarlet Tanager ( Piranga olivacea) in Central Park, NY's The Ramble woodland area at yesterday's World Migratory Bird Day. It's worth mentioning that Scarlet and Summer Tanagers are not in the Tanager family (Thraupidae), but in the Cardinal group (Cardinalidae).

An unusual pink-flowered Common Rock-rose (Helianthemum nummularium) growing on Solsbury Hill near . Flowers of this species are normally yellow. Potentially an escape, but given the location this would be unlikely.

Bramble the juvenile this morning in . Bramble is 5 1/2 weeks old and fully independent, trying to their way in the world. This is Bramble's favourite perch, where they sit and wait for an insect to fly past or a spider to run on the ground below.

My latest friend, Bramble. Bramble is just over 5 weeks old & is now fully independent. For now, Bramble is hanging around close to the nest site, but will shortly begin to wander further afield in search of a territory. Bramble is now adept at catching food, including flies & fast-moving spiders, so stands a good chance of survival.

A juvenile European Robin, a small brown bird, perched on a barbed-wire fence, facing the camera, head turned to left so only one eye is visible.

Female American Kestrel (Falco sparverius).
Ciénaga de Zapata, Cuba
3.14.24

Based on her color pattern, this is probably a resident bird. American Kestrels also migrate from the north. #nature #NaturePhotography #birds #Wildlife #naturecommunity #photography #BirdsOfMastodon #birdphotography #birding #Cuba #Cubanwildlife #biodiversity #kestrel
