Matilde rising up from sitting position in midday sun. Never get too near those unpredictable moving hooves while wearing sandals... 😬
Sitting down is usually done gracefully by donks, but getting up again is always a bit awkward. Matilde has classic Andalusian breed facial features, accentuated in the effort to get up.
Go shopping with #donkeys. Walk to village with donkey and pack saddle. Help local economy. Pay extra for groceries, but you save money not filling up car fuel tank!
See #Mastodonk for #donkey related content. (asstodon no longer in wide use due to 'problems'...)
Surprised about donkeys being uncommon in Sweden. Is that true of all Scandinavia? Probably makes sense, climate wise, as donkeys are originally a desert species and - unlike horses - do not have waterproof coats, so they can catch a chill easily. This may explain it. :-)
One of the endearing habits of our donkeys is the way they put their toys away. I can only guess what their reasoning might be, but frequently when I come out to feed I’ll find that a toy they had been playing with has been carefully placed inside a bowl or tub instead of just left lying on the ground. Sometimes after dark they will gather their toys up into their barn stall where they sleep.
We managed to get out for a lovely drive from my neighbor’s farm on the other side of Mt. Philo, before the rain came. #Mastodonk and a mini horse too!
Now where was I before all that nonsense happened last week? Oh yes, I'd just posted a video about a very guilty looking donkey...
Now, you've probably seen endless guilty dog videos, but have you ever seen such a guilty looking donkey as Aitana when asked questions about the chewed tree?
To my #Mastodonk friends who take care of donkeys: anyone out there caring for a donkey diagnosed with Cushings? One of my minis had a blood test result last week that indicates Cushings, though his levels were normal back in April. I have to start him on Prascend, which I hear equines really dislike. The UK donkey sanctuary says they have good results feeding it in a jam sandwich. (cont)
@equusasinus@stufromoz we cannot let some random weirdos or jerks take over #mastodon or #hashtags, especially not #asstodon. I also reported porn and will continue to do so. The notion that some self-proclaimed academic "owns" a hashtag is a big laugh.
The problem is that some people cannot afford to use an 'unsafe' hashtag. Examples: a donkey-keeper who writes children's books, and another donkey-keeper with a commercial business: their reputations are on the line if their readers see their feed intruded on by porn using the same hashtag!
Dangerously irresponsible for polite posters to use #Asstodon for donkey photos now, so I'm recommending #Mastodonk for that reason. (See example of threat in attached post)
