For those #MacBook Air folks that gave me their opinions, thank you very much.
As soon as I decide just how I will finagle the finances for the purchase I will indeed be getting the laptop.
Everyone’s input was invaluable in helping me make my decision.
#Apple#MacBook nerds. Does anyone know how to take a screenshot of an entire site page? I want to take a full screenshot of this copyright class and keep it. But not bit by bit. The entire thing.
I know the #iPhone used to let us do that. Is this still a thing? Please send help, thank you.

This is an unhelpful response in the age of search engine #enshittification which is well documented especially on the Fediverse. Please stop this style of reply.
ICYMI, I launched ,,Done’’ yesterday, a minimal #macOS menu bar app dedicated to tracking your completed tasks. Unlike traditional to-do apps, Done focuses on what you’ve already achieved, helping you keep a clear record of your accomplishments.
It’s on Product Hunt today. if you happen to hang out at such places, I’d really love your upvote! 😇

merciiiii :miffy_love: :boost_requested:
I got the best results with "UTM". They even support the M CPU (ARM) type. But if you got an ARM CPU you should get an ARM Windows ISO (Since emulating x86/x64 on any ARM device is really slow). But then maybe the thing you want to run doesn't support ARM architecture... So.. yeah ^^'
I just received my new work laptop (#Apple#Macbook Pro M3, ~€2000) just to discover that it does not support dual-monitor output despite having multiple video ports.
For a feature that even the cheapest laptops (and older MacBooks) have had for years, Apple now asks you to buy the MacBook Pro M3 Pro (€2500) or M3 Max (€4000).
This is essentially €2000 #ewaste. Not so "pro" after all.
@tuxdevices I literally found out the same thing last week with my work laptop! Also a Pro M3, it's ridiculous.
I could choose my own laptop configuration as long as it was a Macbook (need to build iOS apps) and I've specifically chosen the Pro to get a proper HDMI port, only to realize this issue way later.
I'm going to replace my personal laptop and am probably going to get a #framework, they show that it is possible to do it right!
"But once again, Steve Jobs objected, because he didn't like the idea of customers mucking with the innards of their computer. He would also rather have them buy a new 512K Mac instead of them buying more RAM from a third-party."
Why hackers buy Apple kit (since the Apple II) I do not understand.
My main laptop is a #Macbook Air running #MacOS, but interestingly, I don't really use the #OS. I use it as if it's a #Chromebook instead. I only launch #Chrome with it (and #QEMU to run #Linux). Every time I HAVE to use the OS at length, e.g. to do something with Finder, it's an exercise in frustration.
What I enjoy very much is the interaction of the hardware with the input UI software (e.g. how the touchpad feels and behaves in conjunction to #software). Not the rest of the system.
I wish there was a portable, usb-run version of #Asahi#Linux for Silicon Macs. More people would try it out and actually use it that way, if it was easy and risk-free to their #MacOS partition. The current way to do that is two whole pages of arcane commands on a terminal. It needs automation.
@eugenialoli I’m sure that lots of folks have already cautioned you about running an OS from a flash drive and recommended at the very least a USB-connected SSD.
