So let me do an #introduction post. I make ceramics and porcelain in a small studio in Berlin.
Sometimes practical, but mostly experimenting with the artistic side.
German and English are not my native, so expect me to translate a lot.

I started on Mastodon.social but created an account here in the hope this instance won't let Meta in and ruin it.
I'm 74, married to Bill, who is 78 for 56 years this year, have a son and a deceased daughter. I'm anti-royalty and anti-celebrity, anti-capitalist and am a anarcho-syndicalist. I love live music from classical to opera to rock, R&B, pop, jazz, experimental, contemporary etc., reading, growing food and flowers, volunteer and seek a way to live sustainably.
I'm Lizzie, a clay and mixed media #artist and illustrator based in the UK with my partner and silly dog.
I make #art like these examples here and although I only take on commercial commissions (as everything takes so long to make!) there are various pieces available for sale over at my store.
I also make tutorials and process vids on YouTube if that's your kind of thing. 🎥

Hi All, I've switched servers so it's #introduction time again! I'm a #writer and #photographer currently living in Minneapolis. MN, USA. Hello World! Firefly Zero is an in-development handheld game console that runs #wasm and supports #BLE multiplayer. It is written by @orsinium in #Rust, runs on #ESP32, and will be fully open source (both software and hardware).
We already have a working desktop emulator and are getting a Rust and #golang SDK ready for alpha testing. Sounds fun? Stay tuned!

Swiss-based musician - bass, guitar, key, vocals of varying competencies. Played in Sydney in the 80s, Brisbane in the 90s, Myspace in the 00s + a rogue folk-acoustic set somewhere in there, nothing at all in the 10s!, and now active again. Several solo, collaborative and band activities locally and in Australia.
Also trying to recover all my old friends after the unexpected move, so boosts appreciated.

Who we are: a 25-year old non-profit vet clinic in the East Bay dedicated to making high-quality surgical care accessible to all.
What we do: We never turn anyone away for lack of funds: since 2014, Animal Fix Clinic has performed more than 50,000 life-saving and life-changing spay/neuter surgeries at low or no cost.
Even though our work focuses on helping animals, it's really about helping people make good decisions for the animals they love without considering cost. We keep pets with their families where they belong.
Right now, we're working to renovate the former Contra Costa Pinole shelter into our full-time, permanent home!

New instance, new introduction. Hello, I am Adam from Ottawa Canada. I am a totally blind man, identifying as he/him.
My primary interests are technology and music. I was a former professional drummer, playing the bar stages of Ottawa and the ocasional out-of-town show.
I've always been rhythmical, annoying the heck out of my parents at the tendor age of four on up banging on pots, pans, spoons, and whatever else I could get my grubby little hands on.
I got my first drum kit when I was 12, back in 1999. I got a couple of upgrades over the years, and then switched to electronic kits in 2007 when I managed to save and purchase a Roland TD-12 kit with my own money. That was like buying a car for me, LOL.
I was professionally active from 2007 until 2019.
Some hearing issues with extended loudness causing anxiety and unease started my issues with playing live shows, and then COVID19 really finished that career.
I've been interested in technology from a young age as well, receiving my first electronic note taker for the blind, a Blazie Engineering Braille Lite in 1996 at the age of 9.
I then got my first computer in the summer of 1998, learned DOS, then eventually Windows 3.1, 95, and on up.
I've had many, many, many computers and other technological devices since those days, and I have done any serious compute work in Linux, where in I am mostly referring to running servers, hosting things, and distributed compute projects.
Professionally, I am currently a systems/server administrator, backend web developer, database administrator, and infrastructure administrator.

I was raised Atheist/Jewish.
The amount of antisemitism I experienced made me seek more education about my Jewish heritage starting in college. I couldn’t understand why people hated me for something I knew little about other than eating Gefilte fish and chopped liver.
I am interested in credible news and learning different perspectives.

Sorry it's taken so long to write my first Toot, but I've been too busy reading so many interesting and entertaining things here.
My interests include Swing Dance, Data Science and extremely amateur music composition of the pseudo-classical variety (using Musescore, because open-source rules!).
I have come from a Facebook background (where all my friends still are except it seemed to die in early 2022 when everyone else repopulated the real world), rather than Twitter. So I have almost no experience with Twitter-like etiquette or practice - I'm used to Comments, Likes and Shares rather than Retweets and Hashtags and whatever else went on in the Bird site before it became the Musk-oX site.
