After a sunny morning a grey afternoon. View across the width of the garden. Very satisfying to think that only a few years ago there was nothing except grass, the trees and the hedge in the distance.
One of the areas of grass, which has not been cut once yet this year, has turned into a #meadow of Lesser or Common #knapweed (Centaurea nigra) and #Yarrow. Both plants are among the top nectar producers, loved by insects and also birds.
The #Echinacea purpurea have started to flower, the #Echinops ritro in the background are still taking their time. Also in the photograph (from bottom left) #Achillea filipendula ‘Parker’s Variety’, #Eupatorium cannabinum, Ragwort and #Miscanthus sinensis ‘Gracillimus’.

Hello from the #garden! #Breezy day, partly cloudy with a lot of sun. Nowhere near as #windy as forecast. I reckon gusting F6, #MetOffice thought thundery, gale force winds (F8). (So far, at least.)
Bee and butterfly friendly wild flower area in our garden with poppies, corn flowers, sunflowers and many other plants.
In total ca. 100 m2 in our garden are reserved for wild flowers.
A #leafcutter#bee takes his/her piece of leaf, cut from a rose leaf in the garden, into a hollow log in the #stumpery . It is so rewarding to see the wildlife utilising my garden! @HampshireKarin@Buglife
A very tasty handfull of wild strawberries. Did you know that those are native to Europe and that the strawberries you can buy are from the "new world"?
