Have not had these before: #Geastrum , a #fungus called #Earthstar . Probably a good sign of a healthy, #biodiverse#garden - always exciting to find something new. Not sure, which variety. Maybe someone can help.

A lone #Echinacea purpurea #flower amongst #seedheads as we move deeper into #autumn . We leave the seedheads standing over the winter.

Cut out the #bamboo by taking the lower leaves off and took out some stems. Looks a bit radical but may have the desired effect of letting more light through.
Hylotelephium spectabile (sedum, ice plant) and Cosmos. Both late flowering, very popular with the insects, bees in particular, at a time when other flowers are becoming rare.

Last week we were enjoying a few days of sunny, dry, hot and #summery weather. What else can you do but sit lazily in the #shade of a big tree?

The light was beautiful this morning. All hazy, gentle and soft. The path in the middle on the right is the entrance to the #stumpery. Lots of new planting this year, which will only reach full height next year.
