Fucking vipers in our garden. Not that I have anything against vipers. Like all other living creatures, they want to live. They were just fucking in our garden, to make more vipers.
Our dogs, #IdąPsięta, have a complicated history with vipers. One of them was once bitten by a very small viper, but survived. Today the mother, Moro, made sure none of the puppies (they're almost five years old now, but we still call them puppies) came close to the vipers.
In the end, two vipers ended up, unharmed, in a bucket, and another one, who didn't participate in fucking, found a good hiding place, probably also in our garden.
What do you do, when you catch #vipers in your #garden, and put them in a bucket? Drive them somewhere safe. I never imagined I'd be driving on a rural road with bucket of vipers. #LivingOnTheEdge.
A #garden catch-up day today, because we've been having slightly warmer weather and some hazy sun. Needless to say, the blossom is out everywhere and the birdsong is getting extremely loud and persistent. Left to right: the mystery (possibly maple) seedling that I relocated from the local park has now started to grow its first set of next-stage leaves. The Ölands wheat in the bucket is growing like mad after 28 days and should yield an impressive crop if I can figure out the feeding regime. Then we have a selection of flowers in the hanging basket, including the hyacinth I took a flyer on - past the planting date and too cold to plant out, officially. Finally the very welcome start to our mini meadow (the "field" is 4m X 2m) which is also the sunniest spot in the garden. Oh, and the sunflowers will be going in this weekend too... #gardening#wheatberries#wheat
The Old English Wallflower is in bloom, so I brought it in and put it on the kitchen table. Now the kitchen smells like floral perfume, just lovely. Also, Tulips, pink and yellow in vases. Spring is so awesome, we keep the whole house in cut flowers from our garden or in pots. #flowers#cutflowers#garden#springflowers#spring
The allotment is starting to look nice now with lots of fresh new plant growth. On the left is the frog pond with tadpoles, the large tree on the right is a greengage which has quite a lot of fruit this year it looks like 🙂. In the foreground is the Seaside garden which is very well-drained and a favourite with nesting solitary bees such as the snail shell-nesting bee Osmia bicolor. #allotment#garden#spring
Tulip Heaven at Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania ~
<The Tulip was actually originally a wild flower growing in Central Asia. It was first cultivated by the Turks as early as 1000AD. Mania in Turkey struck in the 16th century, at the time of the Ottoman Empire, when the Sultan demanded cultivation of particular blooms for his pleasure.>

I've cut the grass at the bottom of the #garden and now I'm done in.
I'm not sure it looks much better, but then the first cut of the year never does.
Unfortunately I Flymo'd a frog and had to 'deal with' its corpse which has made me feel awful - it's something I've never knowingly done before. We love that our garden is home to frogs.
