Looks like thermocouple wiring with very fine enamel-coated wires, and the processor in what's typically called 'glob-top' packaging.
I used to work in research groups where we'd use fancy saws, grinders or hot-acid etching to remove the glob tops and/or cross section the chips and such. Today, the only hot acidic thing around is the cup of tea I'm sipping after lunch.
I guess I can put it back together and test it out.
I don't remember my grandfather much, but I remember one thing he said – when you take things apart, if you're doing it right there are always some extra pieces left over.
I must have messed up as they are all accounted for this time.
Next week, join GBH Archives as they demonstrate FIX-IT+, an open-source, web-based tool for transcript correction. The AAPB and the wider public media community have used FIX-IT+ to correct 2,000+ transcripts of public television programs spanning the last 50 years.
This 15yr old (?) clock radio has suddenly stopped doing the one thing we use it for – projecting the time onto a corner of the bedroom ceiling. It's just out of view, unless you're looking for it.
Of course, once it's gone, you go nuts all night looking for it.
I will miss YouTube terribly when its inevitable enshittification renders it useless. Today YouTube helped me fixed the window regulator on our Fiat 500e, which nobody on Kaua'i would touch for under $500. Cost to me: $28.
It's awesome that you can find obscure YouTube videos with repair instructions for almost anything. But in the case of the Phillips Sonicare toothbrush it's also a bit ridiculous how thousands of people have apparently had this same stupid failure due to a LOOSE SCREW. There must be millions of these in landfills that were perfectly functional otherwise.
I even found an Instructables tutorial from over a decade ago for the same issue on an older model. I guess there's no reason to fix a profitable business model if it's not broken?
I'm still rather new to weaving and I often struggle with my edges. Especially with this scarf. I'm not really sure, what I did wrong but I think it's a combo of tension problems on the selvedge threads of the warp and tensioning of the weft.
Whatever.
The selvedge didn't look good and was too loose, with a severe risk of pulling threads when worn.
I found a matching yarn and made a row of slip stitch crochet along each edge.
Merci d'avance pour les astuces ! 😉 #réparation#repair#fixit#diy
Dziwna sprawa… klękła mi bateria w czytniku. Nie odpala, ale też nie ładuje się. Czytnik jest stary, wolno mu.
Otwarłem gościa, żeby zobaczyć jaka tam jest wtyczka i zacząć szukać baterii. I jakie cuda.
But what's a little #crime against #nature between friends?
On a more serious note, this an #invasive and extremely unwelcome #species. If you spot one in your #electronics#workshop, kill it with fire, and report the incident to the #IEC.
(It's also kind of the antonym of dead-bug circuit construction, which is sort of apt)
A while back the toaster broke when this little bit of "pot metal" lever got bent out of shape. As expected, straightening it was only a temporary fix. I designed and 3d printed a quick reinforcing sleeve for it to slide into (w/glue) providing rigidity.
If I was a YT'er I would have instead done a “here's the new Tallmack 7 axis beryllium drive laser cutter they sent me last week easily slicing hardened steel I had laying around the shop from my metastable martensite quenching video.” 😁
A bit of nostalgia looking thru my older #3Dprinting designs.
When my paper shredder tried to destroy itself, I debugged the problem to be some missing plastic bits and came up with these false teeth for the thing which has kept it going. The teeth clear the strips from where they otherwise build up into concrete-like compacted masses.
I literally just did this earlier today, best feeling ever!
The knob on my toaster oven broke last year and I just assumed I couldn’t buy a replacement and never even checked. Been using a flathead screwdriver for a year and suddenly today, inspiration struck and I fixed it in a few minutes with a cheapo wall hanger hook and some SteelStik epoxy FTW! 👩🏼🏭
Our LG oven touchpad has cracked and broken, and now we get F-3 errors all the time. The control board replacement is no longer manufactured, so I'm wondering about replacing just the plastic overlay, and maybe cleaning the actual buttons behind. Anyone replaced this sort of plastic on their appliances? What material would work, and where could I get it?
The most important part, test the completed #diy project! Pour yourself a cold drink, grab a magazine or novel, and make yourself at home! #patio#chair#refurbished#fixit
