3rd in a weekly series featuring the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin: It was near noon and the sun was shining brightly, but this area near the gazebo was delightfully shaded. The flowers were in full bloom and it smelled heavenly.
While I was driving near a park in south Milwaukee in Wisconsin, I spotted a couple mute swans on the pond. They were dipping their heads and long graceful necks into the water to eat the vegetation at the bottom of the pond.
We were on our way back from a day trip and saw the cloud formations from the freeway. We found our way the Blue Ridge Parkway and got to the Great Valley overlook just before sunset. Glorious!
A hiker passed me at the Rock Castle Gorge overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. He said it was the first time he'd been so far south on the Parkway. The Appalachian Trail is a beautiful place to hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Did you get to see the total eclipse? We had cloudy skies here and only a partial eclipse was visible on the west coast anyway. So I finished "After the Eclipse" instead!

Standing at the edge of Tahquamenon Falls in winter was simply magical. The snowflakes gently falling, the chilly breeze, and the thundering sound of the waterfall created a feast for my senses.
The sunrise at Lake Michigan on that cold winter morning was truly breathtaking. I captured the moment in a stunning black & white image to emphasize the contrast. If you're interested, prints and more of my work are available in my gallery.
I transformed this nighttime image into black and white to emphasize the stark contrast between darkness and light. The photograph beautifully captures the Milwaukee skyline from the northern edge of the Lagoon on the lakefront in the late 2000s.
I had an early morning adventure at the Saddle Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The journey took longer than expected, but I arrived just in time to witness the sun rising over the horizon. The brightness of the sun inspired me to capture the silhouette of an old tree.
I ventured off the snow-packed path to capture this beautiful photograph. Despite the ankle-deep snow and the wet, cold feet, the effort was worth it. The sun rose above the horizon, creating a stunning view.

The sun was going down casting a beautiful glow on the benches at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Wisconsin. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Prints and more are available for purchase, allowing you to bring a piece of this tranquil setting into your home.
Check out this zip pouch that is in my gallery - I wanted to see the quality of the item and I was very pleased! I ordered the large size (8.5 x 12.5 inch). The fabric is hearty and the zipper is very sturdy. Because it's a cloth pouch, this crochet print fits perfectly! I now have a place for my photography travel journal and pens and can carry it all in style!
I love walking in a snowy forest! The tranquility and stillness are so peaceful. A couple years ago, I explored Mill Mountain after a heavy snowfall. The trees were beautifully coated with thick layers of snow. Check out my gallery for prints and more.
I had an exhilarating experience at the Otter Creek Dam on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The dam had round flat stepping stones for crossing Otter Creek, but I was nervous about falling into the shallow water with my camera. Despite my lack of coordination, I managed to make it halfway across. What a view!
