We are back from the holidays and wish you all a #happynewyear! Here's to a faster expansion of #renewables and #phaseout of fossil fuels, the transition to a #circulareconomy and all other things we need to achieve for a sustainable transformation in all areas. Let`s do this!
When I came to the country at the end of the 1980s, there were still wild rubbish #dumps burning in the countryside. Later, people laughed about #wasteSeparation in neighbouring Germany. In the meantime, we have overtaken them. In terms of packaging laws. In large supermarkets, we conveniently
...the billionaires and reallocated these funds for funding the transition to a "#degrowth" economic system / #CircularEconomy (#Circularity) would still be possible in the present-day democracies.
Presently, however, most of voters suffer from the frog-in-a-warm-water-bath perception problem: they will not see the danger until it is too late.
IMO, the heat must be turned up, politically speaking, to get the required drastic measures passed.
:quotesL: Rising material extraction has shrunk global circularity: from 9.1% in 2018, to 8.6% 2020, and now 7.2% in 2023. This leaves a huge Circularity Gap: the globe almost exclusively relies on new (virgin) materials. :quotesR:
Liebe Unternehmer:innen.
So much YES. Would love to connect with fellow enthusiasts and professionals working in the field, and engage more actively, bringing in my own expertise of working in high end interiors and architecture. If that's you, please reach out, boost, connect.
We OBVIOUSLY can't 'keep on keeping on' and design our built environment like we don't know how fundamentally flawed our design principles and construction methods are.
Let's embrace new aesthetics and look forward, not back. Bauhaus was relevant at the time, it's history now. Let's move on. Let's question every single choice in the design process and make better decisions. Educate our clients. Throw those outdated concepts overboard of what is aesthetically pleasant, what is deemed high-end.
Nobody will enjoy marbled lobbies, airconditioned greenhouse towers and concrete buildings on a dead planet. The future is now. Let's design and build it together!
It's been a frustrating day. We've driven around several towns trying to give a few very good quality items to #charity. Most of them weren't interested in taking any donations (because it was too much effort for them to get off their fat arses and do something). The one that did want to take items showed no appreciation and instead tried to berate me for daring to donate something after 14:30 (it was 14:50). Never again. No wonder people don't bother and just chuck everything in landfill.
@druid I work in a charity shop. We are understaffed AND overwhelmed with donations. We ask - politely - that donors “ring before they bring” and limit their donation size. I know it’s an extra hassle for them, but it’s the only way we can cope. We are grateful for your time. There really is too much stuff in this part of the world. #secondhand#circulareconomy#thrifty
#Mehrweg, ähnlich wie die https://www.memo.de/memo-box aber faltbar!
Soll wohl 42% #CO2 sparen.
